Openigloo analysis of renter-reported data across New York City shows that Good Cause Eviction<\/a> is already meaningfully reducing extreme rent hikes, with sharp drops in double-digit increases since the law passed in April 2024. At the same time, overall rent growth has moderated dispelling concerns that the law would drive prices up. Even with carve-outs, the policy is delivering real protections for tenants facing the most burdensome increases.
