Loved there 2 years
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet building. Close to all subways. Friendly staff. Decent place
Cons:
There were constant leaks (it’s an old building). I had mice in my apt, but it was quickly resolved.
Advice to owner:
No major suggestions. I enjoyed my stay. I would have stayed longer if the apartment was bigger

Advice to owner:

Love it but loud construction
Former Tenant
Pros:
love this building, the doorman, the safety, the easy to get anywhere in the city and central park right around the block.
Cons:
the noise levels at the back of the building from another building's construction is unimaginable even for new york. 7am Mon- Sat for months and no signs of it stopping.
Advice to owner:
consider some concessions to help offset the overtaking noise

Nice apartment, old building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice staff, responsive management, great light in apartment
Cons:
Radiators make a lot of noise. Also a lot of noise from the street if facing 58th St.
Advice to owner:
Make the shortcomings of having an old building clear when people are leasing.

Terrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The finishes are nice and the door staff is friendly
Cons:
The management company is impossible to deal with. I’ve had serious maintenance issues go years without being fixed. The leasing department is also a nightmare.
Advice to owner:
Quit your day job

Great Staff, Horrible Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The only thing good about this building is Ralph, Omar, Arshad, and all the other door men and maintenance men. And being close to all subways.
Cons:
The actual management company (William Moses) is horrific. Matthew, in charge of leasing, is rude and condescending. Their head office is slow to respond, and we still have not got our security back and it’s way past the deadline they have. We had a constant rodent problem and the mold in the apartment actually gave me chronic migraines.
Advice to owner:
Update your building and fire Matthew.

The worst building management in the city.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The staff (the doormen, site manager, super, maintenance) are all great; they almost make up for how poorly the building is managed by its owner/management company William Moses Co/Van Dorn Holdings, LLC. Proximity to Central Park and major subway lines.
Cons:
Don’t rent from William Moses Co. They are inarguably one of the worst management companies in the city. The WAM staff is pompous, unreliable and rude. CONSTANT vermin problems that go unaddressed. The elevator is routinely broken. This building was probably lovely and modern in the 1920s, but the past half century hasn’t been kind to it. The area itself also leaves a lot to be desired. While it’s close to Central Park, it’s all tourists, hotels and businesses, no sense of community at all. The building is also rated D in energy efficiency, per ConEd statistics, we pay over 250% more than similar apartments for our energy.
Advice to owner:
Rid yourself of the self-important officers and leasing agents; they’re an embarrassment, particularly Matthew. I imagine that if I were to search ‘failing up’ on urban dictionary, it would link to the WAM website and Matthew’s headshot. Get real exterminators to come in and handle the rodent problem; it shouldn’t be on your residents to be killing dozens of mice. Spend the money to get the elevator fixed properly so it’s not down for weeks at a time every other month.
