RENTERS BEWARE
Former Tenant
Pros:
Proximity to the park and trains
Cons:
Management will replace broken things with broken things. Management will blame you for problems with the building even when they are outside of the unit. Management will not listen to you when you report a leak or take the time to fix it. Cracks continuously appear. Pests EVERYWHERE and they call an exterminator that will put down one sticky trap. They will not work with you to give you compensation for your ceiling falling down or for your hot water being shut off for 10+days. They are “never wrong”. The building has had so many constant water leaks and mold showing but they just paint over it and keep moving yet they didn’t do anything about the inside of the walls. Your apartment will probably not be in code and probably has outdated wiring. They are the type of people to pretend that a unit is not rent controlled when it actually isn’t.
Advice to owner:
Take care of your shit bro

Please don't live here
Former Tenant
Pros:
The price of this apartment was okay, did not have problems with the neighbors
Cons:
Horrible place to live, dealt with pests, management did nothing

So many mice
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to many subways
Cons:
Mice, damage from construction

Pests and difficult to get problems fixed by maintenance
Former Tenant
Pros:
Newer appliances, renovation occurred which made the hallway nicer. Use of gym and laundry facilities across street in building owned by same management.
Cons:
Mice - from the month we moved in up until the end of the year we have experienced persistent mice problems, coming from different areas of the unit (behind the kitchen cabinets, from the living room radiator, from a bedroom radiator, behind the dishwasher). Maintenance would come plug holes but the mice would open new ones. Sometimes it was hard to get a hold of maintenance and we had to push really hard for any changes to be made. Not really any sort of pest control is done here and they send an "exterminator" sometimes who just hands out glue traps. There isn't anything done to try and get rid of the mice or search for holes in the apartment Hot water was out for over a week one month which was inconvenient
Advice to owner:
Better pest control. More needs to be done to solve the root of the problem of the pests in the walls. Poison, fumigation, etc. even if need to undergo construction

Moinian Management is a Joke
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Size of apartment
Cons:
-Dirty -Leaks -Bugs -Mice - I can go on and on
Advice to owner:
You would have a lot less turnover within your units if you actually give a rip about any of your residents, or at least fixed the problems within the building.

Chai Building Review
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Updated units -Access to amenities in luxury sister building (across the street) such as gym and terrace
Cons:
-9 leaks in the little over a year I’ve been here -Poor building maintenance -No laundry in building -Bug problem due to lack of apartment being properly sealed -Noisy area -Management insists on installing the AC units in the front of the building— puts them in improperly causing AC to be extremely loud and ineffective -Noisy neighbors
Advice to owner:
-Spend some time and money updating the plumbing so that the leaks stop. -Install the AC units correctly (even if it means sacrificing the building’s aesthetic)
