Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenants have mixed feelings about 61 EAST 66 STREET, Manhattan. While some appreciate its prime location near Central Park and well-managed cleanliness, others face issues like loud heating systems, pest problems, and unresponsive management. Elevator breakdowns and unexpected rent hikes have led to tenant dissatisfaction. Suggestions include improving maintenance responsiveness, pest control, and transparency on building amenities. Despite some positives, such as quiet back areas and decent water pressure, the general sentiment advises caution due to setbacks in owner accountability and building upkeep.

Great location, old building

Pros

Great location near Central Park. Has an elevator. Back of the building is fairly quiet.

Cons

Very old heating system; abnormally loud popping noise from heating system that disrupted sleep. Ceiling plaster fell in multiple times due to broken pipe of upstairs neighbor. Owner fixed ceiling both times. Regularly found dead cockroaches.
