Home, with unsolved problems
Former Tenant
Pros:
Price.
Apartment is basic, but nice and maintained. Kitchen replaced when moved in, bathtub.
Cons:
Super is a nice guy, but super slow. Some issues took more than a year to repair. Garbage cabinet and chute were filthy, neighbors constantly left stinky garbage in open bags on cabinet floor.
This led to roaches everywhere, all the time, and occasional mice.
The worst part as violently loud noise from the compressors of a bodega on the street level, 24/7. They shook the building and created terrible noise.
Condescending landlord refused to do anything about any of these issues.
Advice to owner:
Remember your obligations and responsibilities as landlord.
- Fix noise issue with sound isolation. Easy and cheap.
- Monitor cameras to find tenants that leave trash on floor.
It's easy to make your tenants life much much better. Take action instead of giving arrogant answers that don't solve anything but your power trip
