Great Location bad Building Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
You can’t beat the location on this building. It is accessible to all the stores and public transportation you’ll ever need. Community is great. Neighbors are super friendly.
Cons:
Unit accommodations do not compensate the rent price. The management company can care less about its tenants. They use a negligence tactics to create high turnover and raise rent for their units. There have been a vast number of HPD violations filed against Chestnut Holdings of New York. They ignore them and anticipate the tenants to either leave or sue. If chosen the latter, they then satisfy, not fix, the problem just enough to close the case.
Advice to owner:
Sell the building to someone that will care more about the neighborhood it’s in and the people that live in it.
