Has Potential but Needs Lots of Work
Former Tenant
Pros:
Area is ok. Rent is cheap for NYC. Neighbors are nice. Not too much noise or movement in building.
Cons:
No intercom or bell. When packages come everyone has to put paper out front. Most of the time delivery people don’t call so you have to go pick it up or it gets return to sender. No one is ever told that there is no bell when moving in. Trash piles up out front and it smells bad. Only first floor is really mopped. Other floors aren’t. So very dusty. Many roaches (they go into apartments). No pets allowed but it’s an old building (makes no sense). Walls are super dirty and not repainted. Floors are cracking and Indented. All house doors are old! Get stuck in my house sometimes and have to kick the door to open. Water pressure in bathroom is horrible.
Advice to owner:
Invest in your Bronx property, like you did for your Harlem one. It’s unfair. We love where we live but with all the downfalls, we will go. We are paying too much for this crap. Can pay slightly higher to live somewhere with a bell and cleaner. No fire detector in apartment. Old appliances in kitchen, want to remove but don’t want to invest in buying new items for them.
