Pros:
Location of building is so convenient and neighborhood is getting nicer.
Cons:
After 4 years of on time rent payments, taking the building garbage out 2x a week, sweeping and mopping building stairs and doing in house renovations yourself because your landlord refused to fix anything or upkeep the building, imagine going through a full winter with no heat, no hot water, rats running around and water bugs everywhere all in the middle of a pandemic. Your roommate moving out because they couldn’t deal with the living conditions. After filing complaints you’re then being threatened to have the building set on fire with you in it if you don’t move out. Lastly having lawyers and family members of the landlord harass you and curse you out to leave building because you’re the only tenant still living there through Covid-19’s traumatic pandemic. Eventually the stress was too much to deal with. From boiling water for bathing and using the stove as a heater through a brutal winter was just no longer doable. We kept getting sick left and was homeless. Nightmare is beyond an understatement. I pray and hope that this landlord, Roye Powell, suffers as much as we did and hopefully pays for his actions.
