Worst experience ever
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments are spacious and beautiful. The super is great and available when problems in the apartment need to be fixed.
Cons:
I lived in an apartment where the noise from the upstairs neighbor ruined my quality of life in the apartment. This was my worst ever experience living in NYC. It was so bad that I looked into hiring a mediator. I am about to be moving out and am still being woken up at 1 am by the sound of furniture being dragged across the apartment. The walls are so thin and the amount of noise is absolutely unreasonable. I would call Sorelle to complain and the woman who answered would say she would call me back, I wouldn’t hear for days until I started calling incessantly. Nobody from the office EVER came to manage the noise and she would just call the tenants and they would say it wasn’t them and she would reiterate that information vs being proactive. The super would knock on the door and then occasionally talk to them but the noise never stopped. I filed 311 complaints to no avail. I felt they didn’t do enough to stop the problem and I had confronted the neighbor myself who did not care. When it came to the end of my lease they refused to let me out fifteen days early despite all the issues I had in the apartment for a full year. Avoid this building at all costs if noise is an issue or trigger for you. The water pressure in my apartment was also nonexistent.
Advice to owner:
Put in more effort when it comes to resolving legitimate problems that extend beyond picking up a phone and saying you can’t do anything. Be more flexible. An agreement is an agreement but I was absolutely miserable living here and this was a major quality of life issue that could have been handled differently instead of just only caring about churning a profit.
