This building is kept immaculately (c) openigloo clean by the kind, attentive, (c) openigloo and responsible super Luis. The (c) openigloo building upholds strict rules about (c) openigloo moving in/ out, quiet hours, (c) openigloo and garbage/ recycling disposal that (c) openigloo make it a very pleasant (c) openigloo place to live. Many tenants (c) openigloo have been there long term (c) openigloo and are very friendly.
Cons:
There are rats on the (c) openigloo street outside the building, but (c) openigloo none inside. Some units don't (c) openigloo get a lot of daylight.

If you don’t want to (c) openigloo have troubles and endless threatening (c) openigloo letters from landlord’s attorney, and (c) openigloo even can’t get expenses incurred (c) openigloo reimbursement from landlord, which was (c) openigloo promised by the landlord and (c) openigloo if you don’t want your (c) openigloo landlord keeps changing terms to (c) openigloo refuse to pay you back, (c) openigloo avoid 5D. If you don’t (c) openigloo believe me and rent this (c) openigloo unit, you’ll regret.

The super is amazing and (c) openigloo will go to great lengths (c) openigloo to help tenants. There is (c) openigloo a little park located directly (c) openigloo across the street and several (c) openigloo cafes/restaurants right around the corner. (c) openigloo Few students/young people living in (c) openigloo the building so noise levels (c) openigloo within the building are generally (c) openigloo low.
Cons:
The building is located near (c) openigloo Amsterdam Ave and across from (c) openigloo several large apartments buildings. They (c) openigloo often have outdoor parties during (c) openigloo the summer and music has (c) openigloo played past 2am several times. (c) openigloo The traffic from Amsterdam echoes (c) openigloo and you can easily hear (c) openigloo it throughout the day and (c) openigloo night. Additionally, for 3+ years (c) openigloo there has been construction (not (c) openigloo sure what for at this (c) openigloo point) going on across the (c) openigloo street and noise levels have (c) openigloo only decreased on Sundays. Several (c) openigloo surrounding buildings have become a (c) openigloo haven for rats in the (c) openigloo past year and that has (c) openigloo affected the building.
Advice to owner:
Consider increased pest control given the serious issues occurring in other buildings on the street.

The location is great, and (c) openigloo most of the tenants are (c) openigloo friendly!
Cons:
Loud, not just street noise, (c) openigloo but from the couple that (c) openigloo fights on the second floor (c) openigloo and their dog. Can be (c) openigloo freezing at times. Lots of (c) openigloo bugs, we were told several (c) openigloo times the exterminator was coming (c) openigloo but it took months to (c) openigloo resolve. Our bathtub dripped to (c) openigloo the floor below, and it (c) openigloo was never resolved, we were (c) openigloo just told not to take (c) openigloo baths.
Advice to owner:
Lower the price

All apartments in the building (c) openigloo are duplexes, which are a (c) openigloo fun and unique layout; tenants (c) openigloo are on the younger side. (c) openigloo The neighborhood has great restaurants (c) openigloo and is convenient to subways.
Cons:
Waterbugs are a huge problem, (c) openigloo they come in through every (c) openigloo vent. But the biggest problem (c) openigloo is noise - there is (c) openigloo no insulation between the floors (c) openigloo or walls, so you can (c) openigloo hear every footstep your upstairs (c) openigloo neighbor takes and every conversation (c) openigloo next door (parties have resulted (c) openigloo in plaster raining down from (c) openigloo my ceiling). Garbage has to (c) openigloo be taken outside, out the (c) openigloo front door of the building (c) openigloo and down the block. Hallways (c) openigloo are the narrowest I’ve ever (c) openigloo seen, so move-in was a (c) openigloo nightmare.
Advice to owner:
Put existing garbage rooms back in use and hire someone to clear them. Have an exterminator handle the entire building, not just individual apartments.

Hire a broker who doesn't lie about amenities (listed dishwasher on Streeteasy - lie, listed laundry as 'in-building - lie, listed a roof deck???? 0 roof access).
