Pros:
The building is very close (c) openigloo to Prospect Park and is (c) openigloo also around the corner from (c) openigloo the Q subway station.
Cons:
Let me start off by (c) openigloo saying that I pay my (c) openigloo rent on time every month. (c) openigloo I am a great tenant (c) openigloo who is quiet, clean, and (c) openigloo responsible.
Which that being said, (c) openigloo where do I begin? We (c) openigloo have “cameras” in the building, (c) openigloo yet packages are constantly being (c) openigloo stolen because they don’t work (c) openigloo and people prop the door (c) openigloo open.
Oh, and the VERMIN (c) openigloo are out of control! There (c) openigloo are rat holes all over (c) openigloo the front yard and they (c) openigloo have easy access to the (c) openigloo basement because there aren’t any (c) openigloo real windows—just holes that they (c) openigloo climb through. The only way (c) openigloo to describe them is that (c) openigloo they frolic, yes FROLIC in (c) openigloo the yard and around the (c) openigloo garbage. Good luck taking (c) openigloo your trash out at night; (c) openigloo you’re liable to loose a (c) openigloo limb because they’re so loud (c) openigloo and aggressive. I feel sorry (c) openigloo for the porters who live (c) openigloo in the basement apartment…who knows (c) openigloo what they go through on (c) openigloo a daily basis.
The elevator (c) openigloo is scary and should have (c) openigloo been replaced years ago…I know (c) openigloo others have been stuck inside (c) openigloo of it, but I can (c) openigloo confirm that I have also (c) openigloo had the unfortunate pleasure of (c) openigloo being trapped inside myself a (c) openigloo few times (I just take (c) openigloo the stairs now). I’ve called (c) openigloo 311, but management probably won’t (c) openigloo do anything about it until (c) openigloo someone gets hurt.
The management (c) openigloo company and the landlord do (c) openigloo not care about this building; (c) openigloo they’re content with letting it (c) openigloo crumble around our ears. It (c) openigloo should be maintained since the (c) openigloo building is almost 100 years (c) openigloo old, but they don’t care. (c) openigloo It took them four months (c) openigloo to fix a leak in (c) openigloo my apartment (I had to (c) openigloo threaten legal action before they (c) openigloo finally repaired it.
There is no (c) openigloo email or emergency number…you can (c) openigloo only get a person Monday (c) openigloo to Thursday from 9-5 and (c) openigloo Friday from 9-12 IF you’re (c) openigloo lucky. No email address to (c) openigloo leave a paper trail…NOTHING.
The (c) openigloo landlord, Moshe Piller, is being (c) openigloo sued by NYC as of (c) openigloo this posting, but he’ll probably (c) openigloo just pay the violations and (c) openigloo still won’t fix anything. Good (c) openigloo luck if you decide to (c) openigloo move here; he will take (c) openigloo your money and throw you (c) openigloo to the wolves.
Advice to owner:
This building is almost 100 years old. Please invest some money back into it and make it a safe space to live.
