Reviews

Terrible Building Horrible Management Even Worse Broker Andres
Former Tenant
Pros:
location, other than that nothing
Cons:
No super, they will lie (c) openigloo and say there is a (c) openigloo super but there isn’t, management (c) openigloo company “casa properties” is horrible (c) openigloo and unresponsive, they do not (c) openigloo that complains seriously. Reveal Real (c) openigloo Estate which is contracted to (c) openigloo rent out the unit in (c) openigloo the building will try illegally (c) openigloo enter your apartment and harass (c) openigloo and threaten you if you (c) openigloo don’t allow them to enter. (c) openigloo They will also try to (c) openigloo enter without 24 hour written (c) openigloo notice, and outside of normal (c) openigloo business hours. Structurally the building (c) openigloo is in disrepair, our roof (c) openigloo leaks non stop and the (c) openigloo hallways and lobby of the (c) openigloo building are disgusting, trash will (c) openigloo sit out for weeks without (c) openigloo anyone coming to clean it. (c) openigloo Trash will also pile up (c) openigloo in the basement causing horrible (c) openigloo smells and pest issues. Your (c) openigloo packages will be stolen and (c) openigloo you will not feel safe (c) openigloo living here. They will try (c) openigloo to squeeze every penny they (c) openigloo can out of you, they (c) openigloo will cash your rent checks (c) openigloo and they claim they never (c) openigloo received your check for that (c) openigloo months and try to fine (c) openigloo you $50 late fee. Save (c) openigloo yourselves the trouble, do not (c) openigloo under any circumstances live here!!!
Advice to owner:
changing everything you do in the way of business.
Decent for the Area
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry in unit and decent (c) openigloo layout. Great location for transportation.
Cons:
I had a mouse. Trash (c) openigloo left out in lobby. Packages (c) openigloo stolen.
Good LES deal
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean and close to subways. (c) openigloo Laundry in unit. Chill building (c) openigloo and good price
Cons:
Had some construction going on, (c) openigloo but overall it didn’t bother (c) openigloo us.
Solid First Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Lived here for semester. Safe (c) openigloo and busy location. Never had a (c) openigloo problem with anything, heat is (c) openigloo very good in the winter. (c) openigloo Garbage disposal is in the (c) openigloo back of the building which (c) openigloo is convenient, walkable to Soho (c) openigloo and village.
Cons:
Walk up, busy street
1 year review
Former Tenant
Pros:
I liked the convenience to (c) openigloo the subways. the trash was (c) openigloo always taken care of well, (c) openigloo the building management typically responded (c) openigloo quickly.
Cons:
the hallways felt a little (c) openigloo dirty at times, wouldn’t turn (c) openigloo the heat off until spring (c) openigloo so it got REALLY hot (c) openigloo in bedrooms.
Very unstable housing - not worth the location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Eventually I saw it as (c) openigloo a blessing to be evicted (c) openigloo bc my new building is (c) openigloo so much nicer (and cheaper)
Cons:
Raised the rent 62% Very thin (c) openigloo walls Weeks without heat Super not (c) openigloo available (will not give contact (c) openigloo info) Constantly woken up in the (c) openigloo middle of the night by (c) openigloo “walkthroughs” Extremely loud building Black mold
Stay away - there is no justification
Former Tenant
Pros:
I loved moving out after (c) openigloo 1 year due to an (c) openigloo 85% increase
Cons:
Evil management with a history (c) openigloo of litigation against them Rats and (c) openigloo bedbugs in almost every apartment Only (c) openigloo had heat 1 out of (c) openigloo 8 days No super Walls are (c) openigloo thin
Advice to owner:
Do some personal reflection
Pretty okay apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Renovations were cute, location is (c) openigloo obviously amazing and access to (c) openigloo transit was perfect. The unit (c) openigloo I lived in had beautiful (c) openigloo brick wall and washer/dryer in (c) openigloo unit which was sick. Garbage (c) openigloo area was always maintained regularly. (c) openigloo Fire escapes were sturdy so (c) openigloo they were nice to hang (c) openigloo on from time to time. (c) openigloo Neighbors were quiet and kind (c) openigloo but keep in mind this (c) openigloo building does attract a lot (c) openigloo of students so there were (c) openigloo parties here and there.
Cons:
I have a lot of (c) openigloo cons for this place. First, (c) openigloo the man who rents out (c) openigloo units in this building, Randall (c) openigloo Smith, was terrible to work (c) openigloo with. He would never respond, (c) openigloo he never got us in (c) openigloo contact with the super or (c) openigloo landlord so any time there (c) openigloo was an issue with the (c) openigloo unit we had no one (c) openigloo to contact. There were roaches (c) openigloo and mice in the building. (c) openigloo Any time there was anyone (c) openigloo moving furniture or running around (c) openigloo upstairs the brick wall would (c) openigloo crumble and leave dust and (c) openigloo rocks everywhere. We lost 90% (c) openigloo of our deposit over the (c) openigloo most minute damages, like scuffs (c) openigloo in the walls, a mirror (c) openigloo that was left on the (c) openigloo wall, etc. There is no (c) openigloo control of the heat in (c) openigloo that building and the radiators (c) openigloo sit directly beneath windows so (c) openigloo all winter long it was (c) openigloo unbearably hot even with the (c) openigloo windows open. We used to (c) openigloo have roof top access and (c) openigloo the view was beautiful but (c) openigloo at some point the landlord (c) openigloo installed the loudest alarm that (c) openigloo was triggered by motion so (c) openigloo you were no longer able (c) openigloo to get up to the (c) openigloo roof. The apartment I rented (c) openigloo was a really great price (c) openigloo when we got it, and (c) openigloo it is very obvious it (c) openigloo is worth no more than (c) openigloo the price we rented it (c) openigloo for. At the end of (c) openigloo the lease the unit was (c) openigloo put back on the market (c) openigloo for $3,000 higher. Bedrooms were (c) openigloo also made super tiny during (c) openigloo renovations, but then again that (c) openigloo may just have been my (c) openigloo unit. Renovations were also cute (c) openigloo but poorly done and very (c) openigloo cheap. And lastly, we were (c) openigloo never warned when people would (c) openigloo come by our apartment. Maintenance (c) openigloo people, realtors showing prospective tenants, (c) openigloo they would all show up (c) openigloo unannounced.
Advice to owner:
Needs to be in much more regular contact with tenants.
Fine but if something goes wrong it will be difficult
Former Tenant
Pros:
Cost and apartment layout were (c) openigloo great roof access was great (c) openigloo until it was taken away.
Cons:
Went multiple months without an (c) openigloo oven because they shut off (c) openigloo gas heat to the building. (c) openigloo There was little communication about (c) openigloo the status of the replacement (c) openigloo ovens and it took numerous (c) openigloo call to get the issue (c) openigloo resolved.
It’s ok but a churn and dump apartment building
Former Tenant
Pros:
-lots of light -sprays regularly
Cons:
-management is not responsive unless (c) openigloo they are trying to collect (c) openigloo money from you
Advice to owner:
be more responsive
