Reviews

Very responsive management, building is old
Former Tenant
Pros:
Someone picks up the trash (c) openigloo pretty frequently, the hallways get (c) openigloo cleaned every so often, the (c) openigloo building management answers very very (c) openigloo quickly and responds to problems (c) openigloo efficiently
Cons:
The management fixes problems more (c) openigloo like bandaids. I had rusty (c) openigloo steam spewing out of my (c) openigloo radiator, so there's definitely old (c) openigloo pipes. The center 'hole' of (c) openigloo the building that the bathroom (c) openigloo windows face into is definitely (c) openigloo very dirty. I and a (c) openigloo neighbor have had 2 roach (c) openigloo incidents. My ceiling leaks when (c) openigloo it rains because I'm on (c) openigloo the 4th floor (used to (c) openigloo be the top floor before (c) openigloo they built two levels above), (c) openigloo and they recommended a 'painter' (c) openigloo to fix it. Definitely are (c) openigloo a lot of problems with (c) openigloo the building as a whole (c) openigloo but management at least gives (c) openigloo a shit about you. Also (c) openigloo sometimes the doorbell butler system (c) openigloo is down and you have (c) openigloo to go down to let (c) openigloo people in / need your (c) openigloo key at all times just (c) openigloo in case. There's also a (c) openigloo package thief that comes by (c) openigloo often so beware. The stove (c) openigloo and fridge were also missing (c) openigloo racks/shelves and I told management (c) openigloo but no replacement's came.
Advice to owner:
Bigger trash bins, better determent for package thief
Avoid this real estate management group
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to grocery stores, location (c) openigloo is great for younger people (c) openigloo who want access to downtown, (c) openigloo perfect size for just one (c) openigloo person, some aesthetic updates are (c) openigloo nice, can’t really hear neighbors
Cons:
Security cameras are not turned (c) openigloo on/neighbor in the building steals (c) openigloo packages, price is exorbitant for (c) openigloo the space, don’t share updates (c) openigloo around construction hours (performed indoor (c) openigloo construction on staircase for days (c) openigloo on end, never advised tenants), (c) openigloo unresponsive to maintenance requests (pipes (c) openigloo are too small in updates (c) openigloo units, leaks are common, will (c) openigloo not address stolen package issues), (c) openigloo most updated furnishes are cheaply (c) openigloo made, did not notify the (c) openigloo entire building of a cockroach (c) openigloo infestation & reduced exterminator visits (c) openigloo to “as requested” requiring tenants (c) openigloo to enroll in program without (c) openigloo advising them, leasing agents are (c) openigloo terrible/will say anything to get (c) openigloo you to sign, increased the (c) openigloo rent for everyone in the (c) openigloo building by almost 40% in (c) openigloo 2022 after promising this would (c) openigloo not happen - try to (c) openigloo ensure they do not have (c) openigloo long term renters in the (c) openigloo building, management is likely illegally (c) openigloo destabilizing the units as they (c) openigloo stopped registering rental history in (c) openigloo 2012 (when most units were (c) openigloo rent stabilized), not below intimidation (c) openigloo of tenants
Advice to owner:
Deal with the tenant stealing packages, stop ripping off your tenants out of greed - worst rental experience in NYC
Decent
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, nice communal area
Cons:
lack of responsiveness from management
Advice to owner:
Reply to us please
Neighbors are a nightmare
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartment had new finishes (c) openigloo and was spacious
Cons:
You would hope living on (c) openigloo the top floor (5 flights (c) openigloo of stairs) would at least (c) openigloo mean less disturbances from neighbors (c) openigloo except that the average age (c) openigloo in the building seemed to (c) openigloo be 20 year old college (c) openigloo kids who partied in the (c) openigloo hallway and on the roof. (c) openigloo You can hear EVERYTHING in (c) openigloo the hallway. Literally everything. I (c) openigloo had to file noise complaints (c) openigloo at least once a month. (c) openigloo It was truly miserable and (c) openigloo I highly recommend searching elsewhere (c) openigloo unless you’re interested in partying (c) openigloo all the time and don’t (c) openigloo mind hearing other people do (c) openigloo the same. Also rent is (c) openigloo high for zero amenities.
Advice to owner:
Take noise complaints seriously and get rid of disturbing tenants.
Very Expensive, Frat Living
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, and pretty good (c) openigloo unit
Cons:
Management takes forever to answer (c) openigloo via email and their app. (c) openigloo They hide behind the app, (c) openigloo the heating is poor, and (c) openigloo they don’t care people steal (c) openigloo your packages.
Advice to owner:
Listen to your tenants. See the notes on the buildings and respond to when people put in requests and give timelines and updates when updates take longer than a 48 hours to fix. Also, if you give permission to go inside your home for a repair, that makes one assume you don’t need to be home for other repairs.
I kind of hate it here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartment facing the back is (c) openigloo decently quiet, but the neighbors (c) openigloo are not. They often are (c) openigloo yelling in the hallway or (c) openigloo in the backyard now that (c) openigloo there's a common area back (c) openigloo there. Renovations are nice, small (c) openigloo but solid dishwasher, nicely renovated (c) openigloo bathroom, good location if you (c) openigloo can stand being in the (c) openigloo heart of LES nightlife. No (c) openigloo issues with bugs and they (c) openigloo got rid of the rats (c) openigloo in the back. Additionally they (c) openigloo have outdoor bike racks (unprotected (c) openigloo from the elements but safe (c) openigloo from theft), good floors, lots (c) openigloo of closet space
Cons:
Apartments are so incredibly small (c) openigloo they are essentially studios with (c) openigloo a set of pocket doors (c) openigloo that create a "bedroom", the (c) openigloo other tenants are largely the (c) openigloo obnoxious type, packages stolen constantly, (c) openigloo heat is out of control (c) openigloo in the winter making it (c) openigloo impossible to sleep, management is (c) openigloo largely uncommunicative, bathrooms are very (c) openigloo small, absolutely no counter space (c) openigloo available for cooking, building reeks (c) openigloo of weed and cigarettes, puke (c) openigloo and trash on the front (c) openigloo stoop, there was an entire (c) openigloo year of loud and unbearable (c) openigloo construction noise with no concessions (c) openigloo from the building, no laundry
Advice to owner:
I realize the apartments are renovated and in a good location, but you're charging way too much for a building with this many unaddressed problems
Good living experience for 4 years!
Former Tenant
Pros:
The management was overall responsive
Cons:
Street noise was loud at (c) openigloo times
Good if you’re ok w/ sleeping from 5:00-6 AM only
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, restaurants and bars, dishwasher (c) openigloo and laundry (think they took (c) openigloo this out). Lots of closet (c) openigloo space for a 1 bed (c) openigloo in the LES, neighbors were (c) openigloo friendly, one gave me free (c) openigloo makeup and the other helped (c) openigloo me break back into my (c) openigloo apartment, and the italian restaurant (c) openigloo owner downstairs gives great life (c) openigloo advice
Cons:
Broker fee was insane but (c) openigloo think it’s no fee now (c) openigloo (yay), noise is unbearable. You (c) openigloo might as well choose to (c) openigloo live at a fire station/police (c) openigloo precinct/ER driveway, narrow street so (c) openigloo the sounds echo. Drunk people (c) openigloo fighting at 3-4 AM is (c) openigloo entertaining and since you won’t (c) openigloo be sleeping, you might at (c) openigloo well grab a snack and (c) openigloo watch the show like I (c) openigloo did, then the trash truck (c) openigloo comes around at 4-4:30ish. Then (c) openigloo when your lease renewal comes (c) openigloo around, expect a $200 increase (c) openigloo
Advice to owner:
Sounds proof windows, being the laundry unit back, and continue with no fee
Cool area/building if you’re young
Former Tenant
Pros:
Awesome location. Great starter apartment (c) openigloo for a couple. Bathroom is (c) openigloo truly stunning.
Cons:
Units are really small. Very (c) openigloo little counter space in kitchen. (c) openigloo ***MAJOR*** rat problem in the (c) openigloo garbage yard in the back. (c) openigloo Packages often get stolen
Advice to owner:
Building security should be a bigger priority. And something to limit the rats in the back.
