Reviews

Great team, nice units, noisy but convenient location
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Concierge / maintenance team (c) openigloo are top notch - Units are (c) openigloo nicely maintained - Close to (c) openigloo Port Authority / NY Penn (c) openigloo Station
Cons:
- Noisy location, right above (c) openigloo 42nd street / Lincoln tunnel (c) openigloo traffic
Overall a good place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
The doormen are wonderful, and (c) openigloo management is very responsive. The (c) openigloo apartment was clean and neighbors (c) openigloo were generally friendly and quiet. (c) openigloo No broker fee.
Cons:
Have to pay for amenities (c) openigloo like the gym. You can (c) openigloo still hear street noise even (c) openigloo on higher floors. Saw roaches (c) openigloo a few times on the (c) openigloo stairs and in the laundry (c) openigloo room.
Love the staff and the ares
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartment is spacious and (c) openigloo has good closet space. The (c) openigloo doormen are very sweet and (c) openigloo the handyman are very helpful
Cons:
Small kitchen and we did (c) openigloo find the occasional roach and (c) openigloo we were on the 21st (c) openigloo floor but the building has (c) openigloo an exterminator come every Thursday
From a Former Tenant
Former Tenant
Pros:
The fact that I am (c) openigloo taking the time top (c) openigloo write this as a (c) openigloo FORMER tenant should show (c) openigloo the affinity I have for (c) openigloo this building. even though (c) openigloo it was built in 2001, (c) openigloo the building seems outdated compared (c) openigloo to all the newer construction (c) openigloo from 2010 which are black (c) openigloo glass floor-ceiling. You (c) openigloo could not ask to be (c) openigloo in a better location, it (c) openigloo is near everything, and despite (c) openigloo being on top of the (c) openigloo Lincoln tunnel, the noise levels (c) openigloo are not bad when the (c) openigloo windows are closed, but you (c) openigloo may want to consider a (c) openigloo higher floor to make sure
Cons:
Building is hideous looking on (c) openigloo the outside- which means (c) openigloo you dont have to look (c) openigloo at it if you live (c) openigloo inside. Generally kept pretty (c) openigloo clean but still looks dated (c) openigloo - management is very good (c) openigloo at responding to issues
Roaches and no hot water
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great
Cons:
No hot water, was told (c) openigloo to run my water for (c) openigloo 20 Mins and it’s bc the (c) openigloo girl upstairs doesn’t run her (c) openigloo water enough. Massive roaches, mold (c) openigloo on walls( told the walls (c) openigloo can’t mold bc they took (c) openigloo a class and know) rooftop (c) openigloo chairs all broken, glass bottles (c) openigloo and garbage everywhere. Rent went (c) openigloo up $700 and they didn’t (c) openigloo even do anything new to (c) openigloo the building. Tries to evict (c) openigloo you to get higher rent (c) openigloo .
Advice to owner:
Put some money into your buildings .
Good building, no major complaints
Former Tenant
Pros:
Big bedrooms, some units have (c) openigloo nice and modern finishings. The (c) openigloo building staff is great, doormen (c) openigloo are all friendly enough and (c) openigloo maintenance is quick with most (c) openigloo things. Views are great both (c) openigloo facing north and south if (c) openigloo you're on a higher floor. (c) openigloo If your unit is rent-stabilized (c) openigloo it's worth staying.
Cons:
Leasing office is extremely slow (c) openigloo with responses, you usually have (c) openigloo to call them to get (c) openigloo an answer. Area is pretty (c) openigloo noisy and sound insulation in (c) openigloo the building isn't the best. (c) openigloo Heat insulation isn't great either, (c) openigloo always need the AC on (c) openigloo in the summer and heat (c) openigloo on in the summer.
It’s just ok
Former Tenant
Pros:
Gorgeous views from our corner (c) openigloo unit, have never had to (c) openigloo see or deal with bugs (c) openigloo or other pests.
Cons:
Doormen suck. Regularly will be (c) openigloo standing around in the lobby (c) openigloo / standing in the way (c) openigloo of the door but not (c) openigloo opening it. Not in any (c) openigloo rush to be helpful. Gym (c) openigloo is run down and tiny. (c) openigloo Elevators and hallways are rarely (c) openigloo clean. Being this close to (c) openigloo port authority also sucks. Brings (c) openigloo the type of crowd you’d (c) openigloo expect.
Nice building, garbage management team
Former Tenant
Pros:
Weekly cleaning of lobby area (c) openigloo and pest control offered on (c) openigloo the second Saturday of each (c) openigloo month**
Cons:
**BUT the building expects you (c) openigloo to email them to then (c) openigloo have them tell the exterminator (c) openigloo knock on your door so (c) openigloo you can be serviced. As (c) openigloo a result, most units go (c) openigloo unserviced for months and summer (c) openigloo months bring massive roaches. The management (c) openigloo company has people assigned to (c) openigloo oversee this property who are (c) openigloo curt, unhelpful & who do (c) openigloo not follow up.
Luxury building without luxury.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great
Cons:
Lease states that heat is (c) openigloo included, yet heat isn’t provided (c) openigloo on a continuous basis. No (c) openigloo hot water pressure. Fireplace, which (c) openigloo is a prime reason to (c) openigloo rent the space is now (c) openigloo off limits with no compensation. Although (c) openigloo it’s listed as luxury building (c) openigloo and the rent reflects that; (c) openigloo the services fall short. Every (c) openigloo winter heat is only in (c) openigloo 45 min every few hours.
Advice to owner:
Provide continuous heat when it’s 18F outside - it’s the law. If you take away a feature from the apartment provide rent discount appropriate to such reductions.
Nice building with competent staff
Former Tenant
Pros:
Staff is kind and competent.
Cons:
Multiple cockroaches sighting in the (c) openigloo living room. Management not helping.
