Lower the rent, $2200 for a one bedroom is crazy

great layout inside and recently (c) openigloo updated roof area, incredible building (c) openigloo staff, gym almost always empty
Cons:
Landlord is raising the rent (c) openigloo 40% which is ridiculous. Units (c) openigloo don’t come w curtains or (c) openigloo blinds and windows are so (c) openigloo big you need to get (c) openigloo custom made coverings. All the (c) openigloo balconies are connected to at (c) openigloo least one other unit which (c) openigloo is a little strange. Decent (c) openigloo noise suppression between units but (c) openigloo any noise in the hallway (c) openigloo or outside (there’s a grade (c) openigloo school w recess multiple times (c) openigloo a day & also lots (c) openigloo of neighborhood construction) can be (c) openigloo heard in the apartment.
Advice to owner:
You have a beautiful space but don’t overprice it or the units will sit empty for months while you slowly decrease to slightly higher than what your current tenants pay. Save us all the hassle and come down on the rent increase.

Cons:
Building is not secure, despite (c) openigloo having doormen present. Several exterior (c) openigloo doors are unlocked and anyone (c) openigloo can access the building at (c) openigloo any time. They currently have (c) openigloo a problem with someone sneaking (c) openigloo in from 12-4am with a (c) openigloo mailbox master key taking everyone’s (c) openigloo mail. Minimal security cameras and (c) openigloo dark hallways. My floor was (c) openigloo very smelly. Outdated plumbing, and (c) openigloo you need your own appliances.
Advice to owner:
Maintain the building.

Noise of neighbors above and (c) openigloo below unit is regularly intrusive (c) openigloo and irritating. Poor building ventilation systems (c) openigloo leads to basement odors and (c) openigloo musty bathrooms. Old piping results in (c) openigloo regular water leaks in bathroom (c) openigloo and kitchen. Maintenance and repair work (c) openigloo is hasty and subpar. Building design (c) openigloo and decor is outdated and (c) openigloo unflattering.

Insulate floor space between units. Upgrade ventilation system. Upgrade building pipes. Hire skilled contractors who take pride in their work. Upgrade and update building common areas.
