Great area, roach problem

Large enough apartment, and had (c) openigloo a nice city view. Neighbors (c) openigloo were all extremely nice. Nice (c) openigloo molding on the wall and (c) openigloo the apt had good character.
Cons:
ROACHES. We had a roach (c) openigloo infestation on day 1 and (c) openigloo it was never resolved the (c) openigloo whole time we lived there. (c) openigloo The “exterminator” came once a (c) openigloo month and sprayed for 2 (c) openigloo seconds. There are huge utility (c) openigloo holes under the sink that (c) openigloo go into the whole building, (c) openigloo and they can come and (c) openigloo go freely through there. Our (c) openigloo kitchen was infested and it (c) openigloo always made us incredibly uncomfortable. (c) openigloo We tried traps and poison, (c) openigloo which helped a little bit, (c) openigloo but it was always a (c) openigloo problem.

This building is right around (c) openigloo the corner from a well (c) openigloo known drug dealing spot on (c) openigloo Sherman and Arden. People are (c) openigloo there all the time with (c) openigloo guns and there are needles (c) openigloo around. In order to secure (c) openigloo a lease, you have to (c) openigloo pay 1 month’s rent in (c) openigloo cash to the super as (c) openigloo a “broker’s fee” because apparently, (c) openigloo the super has a broker’s (c) openigloo license. The super only gets (c) openigloo a small portion of this (c) openigloo fee and the rest goes (c) openigloo to BB&B Management Company. They (c) openigloo make you pay this in (c) openigloo cash but if you press (c) openigloo them, you can pay it (c) openigloo in a cashier’s check. Packages (c) openigloo are stolen frequently and the (c) openigloo super and management refuse to (c) openigloo do anything about it. There was (c) openigloo once an incident where a (c) openigloo delivery person was beaten up (c) openigloo in the lobby of a (c) openigloo building owned by the same (c) openigloo management company and it just (c) openigloo across the courtyard. One of (c) openigloo the perpetrators brandished a gun. (c) openigloo The management company did not (c) openigloo tell tenants about the incident (c) openigloo and there was no change (c) openigloo in security or anything. Very (c) openigloo unprofessional and unsafe. The super (c) openigloo just told the few tenants (c) openigloo that contacted him that this (c) openigloo is normal behavior for this (c) openigloo area. If your windows face (c) openigloo Dongan or Broadway, it is (c) openigloo extremely loud as in the (c) openigloo summer people blast their music (c) openigloo until very late at night. All (c) openigloo year, cars come speeding through (c) openigloo Dongan and it is very (c) openigloo unsafe.

The units (c) openigloo are turned over in excellent (c) openigloo condition, and unit maintenance requests (c) openigloo are handled in a timely, (c) openigloo competent manner. Outdoor areas of (c) openigloo owner responsibility are neat and (c) openigloo clean. Addition of online rent (c) openigloo portal is probably the single (c) openigloo greatest improvement made here in (c) openigloo recent years.

This street is very noisy (c) openigloo on non-winter weekends as the (c) openigloo sidewalks are pretty much people's (c) openigloo living rooms around the bodega. (c) openigloo Broadway-facing units are like the (c) openigloo starting line at an NHRA (c) openigloo event. Courtyard units are more (c) openigloo quiet but less sunny -- (c) openigloo The owner denies responsibility for (c) openigloo safety from trespassers and provides (c) openigloo no modern method of vetting (c) openigloo visitors and buzzing them in. (c) openigloo Building safety issues, when surfaced, (c) openigloo are almost always blamed on (c) openigloo or passed off to tenants. (c) openigloo -- In the past year, (c) openigloo management attempts at improving the (c) openigloo common areas have failed, leaving (c) openigloo paint splatters, puddles and sloppiness (c) openigloo throughout, almost as if it's (c) openigloo a strategy of some sort. (c) openigloo -- Some tenants are allowed (c) openigloo to sublet or move to (c) openigloo other units; less popular tenants (c) openigloo are not allowed either.
Advice to owner:
You might try actually telling the tenants what is going on, or even update contact information. Are you afraid that people will ask for things if you communicate with them?

Amazing super, lovely neighbors, proximity (c) openigloo to park, A train, shopping, (c) openigloo restaurants.
Cons:
Realtor takes one month deposit (c) openigloo whether they show you the (c) openigloo apartment or not. You will (c) openigloo hear your neighbors practice instruments (c) openigloo and sing, sneeze, hear kids (c) openigloo running, so don't move in (c) openigloo if you don't like hearing (c) openigloo all of that.

Please fix all the washers and dryers in the basement.

Everyone that lives in this (c) openigloo building is wicked friendly. People (c) openigloo that have lived here their (c) openigloo whole lives so respect them. (c) openigloo It is also a pet (c) openigloo friendly building which is hard (c) openigloo to find. Perfect location to (c) openigloo everything and the layout of (c) openigloo the apartment is perfect and (c) openigloo spacious enough.

Where to begin. Upon moving (c) openigloo in everything was great. Then (c) openigloo as time went on it's (c) openigloo when shit hit the fan. (c) openigloo The walls are paper thin, (c) openigloo remember how I said it's (c) openigloo pet friendly well have fun (c) openigloo hearing all the yappy little (c) openigloo dogs in the building. On (c) openigloo top of that the growing (c) openigloo number of cockroaches is absolutely (c) openigloo atrocious they're in literally every (c) openigloo room. The exterminator rarely ever (c) openigloo comes and I'm always off (c) openigloo on the day he's supposed (c) openigloo to come. (Oh and they're (c) openigloo fucking massive.) On top of (c) openigloo that when the heater comes (c) openigloo on in the winter which (c) openigloo is either too often or (c) openigloo not often enough, it creates (c) openigloo black mold everywhere which I'm (c) openigloo positive they just paint over. (c) openigloo Because guess what the paint (c) openigloo started chunking off the walls (c) openigloo and I found more old (c) openigloo black mold! Those were the (c) openigloo major things. Some other fun (c) openigloo things are the pipes are (c) openigloo old so get ready for (c) openigloo things to clog every couple (c) openigloo of days, the super is (c) openigloo more useless than helpful, the (c) openigloo appliances are so old so (c) openigloo get prepared to pay astronomical (c) openigloo electric prices. If you pay (c) openigloo over 2 grand for any (c) openigloo of these apartments you are (c) openigloo paying way too much.
Advice to owner:
Bomb the whole place for cockroaches and renovate. Hire a cleaning person to clean the stairwell weekly. Get a better exterminator.
