Pros:
-AMENITIES: lived in one of (c) openigloo the recently updated units
-APPLIANCES: all (c) openigloo appliances in unit (washer, dryer, (c) openigloo dishwasher and all surprisingly high-end!)
-INTERIOR: (c) openigloo modern interior (crisp white walls/doors, (c) openigloo exposed brick in some rooms, (c) openigloo marble tiled shower)
-PRICE: decent price (c) openigloo (at first) for new, young (c) openigloo professionals who don’t mind more (c) openigloo than one roommate situation or (c) openigloo paying for a guest bedroom
-NEARBY: (c) openigloo lots of essential stores finally (c) openigloo opened just a couple blocks (c) openigloo away (Trader Joe’s, Target, CVS, (c) openigloo etc.) making the neighborhood much (c) openigloo more convenient than before
-MANAGEMENT: management (c) openigloo was generally reasonable and considerate
Cons:
-LAYOUT: while they did a (c) openigloo good job with what I’m (c) openigloo sure were extensive renovations to (c) openigloo units like ours, they didn’t (c) openigloo quite nail the layout of (c) openigloo the space (small “common space” (c) openigloo even by NYC standards with (c) openigloo zero closets, awkwardly different sized (c) openigloo bedrooms, and the washer/dryer made (c) openigloo the small space very hot (c) openigloo and humid rapidly as it (c) openigloo seemed to vent straight into (c) openigloo the apt)
-INTERNET: the “complimentary” building-wide (c) openigloo internet is kind of a (c) openigloo running joke in the building (c) openigloo (rather slow, sometimes unreliable, and (c) openigloo not secured using the proper (c) openigloo protocols for wifi security)
-SECURITY: packages (c) openigloo stolen from mail area despite (c) openigloo security cameras (none of us (c) openigloo ever found out whether they (c) openigloo were real/fake, on/off)
-LOCATION: at the (c) openigloo very end of Rivington, this (c) openigloo building is literally and I (c) openigloo mean *precisely* on the edge (c) openigloo of two distinctly contrasting environments (c) openigloo (make a left out the (c) openigloo door and you’re in massive (c) openigloo housing projects neighborhood with constant (c) openigloo crime…make a right out the (c) openigloo door and you’re in the (c) openigloo heart of LES which is (c) openigloo full of young successful professionals, (c) openigloo art galleries, restaurants, shops, bars)
OTHER/MISC:
-a (c) openigloo few people experiencing homelessness hang (c) openigloo around, and while they never (c) openigloo caused any major issues to (c) openigloo my knowledge, their sleeping on (c) openigloo steps is a truly sad (c) openigloo and constant reminder of larger (c) openigloo issues that come with rapidly (c) openigloo changing neighborhoods like LES
-was never (c) openigloo entirely clear on this but (c) openigloo there was some weird situation (c) openigloo regarding the other units (allegedly (c) openigloo rent controlled units were not (c) openigloo updated but updated units were (c) openigloo not rent controlled?) which made (c) openigloo for an awkward disparity in (c) openigloo conversations between tenants in different (c) openigloo units
