Reviews

Loved the apartment, not the landlord
Former Tenant
Pros:
High ceilings, great neighborhood
Cons:
Leak in ceiling for 2 (c) openigloo years
Solid spot for first time in NYC
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet, nice, good block, management (c) openigloo is responsive and accommodating.
Cons:
Far from transportation
Emma, the current owner, is the best.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The landlord is responsive and (c) openigloo considerate and quick to tackle (c) openigloo any issues that arise.
Cons:
Noise from the street.
Overall not too bad
Former Tenant
Pros:
Convenient location, close to everything
Cons:
Roaches, crooked floors, heating was (c) openigloo turned on to a minimal (c) openigloo during winter
Worst building in Williamsburg
Former Tenant
Pros:
Conveniently located to everything Williamsburg (c) openigloo has to offer as well (c) openigloo as transportation.
Cons:
The building is not maintained (c) openigloo well at all!! 1) Garbage (c) openigloo and recycling constantly piles up (c) openigloo and attracts rodents because it (c) openigloo is not removed regularly 2) (c) openigloo Common area hallways are never (c) openigloo cleaned 3) Eddies Sports Lounge (c) openigloo has a degree of loud (c) openigloo noise and music that is (c) openigloo unlike anything I have ever (c) openigloo experienced. Their customers and (c) openigloo the employees are all beyond (c) openigloo rude and inconsiderate 4) the (c) openigloo buildings front entrance and stairs (c) openigloo are very poor lit- I (c) openigloo find myself very feeling nervous (c) openigloo and unsafe at night. (c) openigloo 5) at one point they (c) openigloo had a junkie living in (c) openigloo the basement because he would (c) openigloo take the trash out for (c) openigloo $5. I witnessed him (c) openigloo multiple times doing drugs on (c) openigloo the stoop. 6) they (c) openigloo illegally dump garbage and bulk (c) openigloo items across the street on (c) openigloo a hill which is the (c) openigloo entrance to the BQE- such (c) openigloo an eyesore looking at it (c) openigloo from your bedroom window in
Advice to owner:
Clean up your property and ask Eddies Sports Lounge to have some respect for its neighbors!
Very Cozy Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Lots of sunlight and great (c) openigloo location
Cons:
Only studio apts here.
Don’t rent
Former Tenant
Pros:
Most neighbors are nice. Street (c) openigloo pretty quiet. One block from (c) openigloo park.
Cons:
I’ve called in for city (c) openigloo housing inspection. Really surprised none (c) openigloo of my neighbors do because (c) openigloo they talk together and complain (c) openigloo too. But I had to (c) openigloo not let this landlord get (c) openigloo away with this and also (c) openigloo make sure the complaints are (c) openigloo posted to warn future residents. (c) openigloo COCKROACHES everywhere. I’ve never had (c) openigloo that before moving here. Foyer (c) openigloo and halls with holes in (c) openigloo walls and peeling paint. My (c) openigloo apartment has a leaking exterior (c) openigloo wall and my door isn’t (c) openigloo self closing which is required. (c) openigloo I haven’t even been here (c) openigloo a year and the owner (c) openigloo won’t work out a mutual (c) openigloo release so I will move (c) openigloo as soon as i can (c) openigloo afford to pay two rents. (c) openigloo My neighbor moved and his (c) openigloo apartment door was open for (c) openigloo painters so I snooped and (c) openigloo I can’t believe how he (c) openigloo was living and putting up (c) openigloo with peeling paint and no (c) openigloo light covers. His kitchen is (c) openigloo a disaster. Makes my apartment (c) openigloo look amazing comparably. I also (c) openigloo think unfortunately that there is (c) openigloo a hoarder in my building (c) openigloo which may contribute to the (c) openigloo pest issues. A neighbor in (c) openigloo the building next door, same (c) openigloo landlord, told me a ton (c) openigloo of issues he has, including (c) openigloo RATS, and showed me huge (c) openigloo holes in his baseboards. The (c) openigloo rent seemed more reasonable in (c) openigloo early 2020 when I was (c) openigloo looking, even though it is (c) openigloo TINY, and I ignored the (c) openigloo warning signs because of the (c) openigloo great location but now there (c) openigloo is much more inventory so (c) openigloo believe your own eyes and (c) openigloo stay far away. Also, the (c) openigloo management actually moved into one (c) openigloo of the units in the (c) openigloo building so they have been (c) openigloo here every day since August (c) openigloo 2020 and they still don’t (c) openigloo make it better.
Advice to owner:
Know what the housing maintenance code requires you to do and do it. It’s that simple. Tenants shouldn’t have to pay you and live like this. And if a tenant wants to leave, it would be good to negotiate on this.
