Reviews

Pricey but worth it if you have the money
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great, warm friendly staff Prompt garbage (c) openigloo management They literally will packages up (c) openigloo to your door Beautiful views on (c) openigloo the city and Hudson, great (c) openigloo sunlight if you're in sun, (c) openigloo east or west facing apartment Amazing (c) openigloo location, literally 5-10min walk away (c) openigloo from virtually every major subway (c) openigloo line Nice Rooftop that no one (c) openigloo uses, felt like a private (c) openigloo roof most days/nights Beautiful plaza that (c) openigloo you can sit, relax, work (c) openigloo in during the warmer months
Cons:
Expensive You have to tip staff (c) openigloo at winter holiday and probably (c) openigloo each time they help you (c) openigloo with you something big (like (c) openigloo you technically don't HAVE to, (c) openigloo but really you should bc (c) openigloo they do a LOT for (c) openigloo you)
Great building to live in
Former Tenant
Pros:
Doorman and front desk very (c) openigloo nice and helpful. Building recently (c) openigloo upgraded hallway
Cons:
Water pressure could be better
Poorly managed building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, apartments are spacious
Cons:
Poor management and no security.
Advice to owner:
You could do better
Well managed building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Live in super who takes (c) openigloo care of EVERYTHING
Cons:
heating is often high
John Adams stable, clean building.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Well run building with great (c) openigloo amenities.
Cons:
Expensive, and restrictive sublet policy.
Advice to owner:
You’re doing a great job!
Nice building and staff!
Former Tenant
Pros:
* friendly staff * laundry/garbage almost (c) openigloo every floor * clean
Cons:
* paying $450/mth for AC (c) openigloo in the summer with new (c) openigloo PTAC units. haven't been able (c) openigloo to figure out if there's (c) openigloo something else going on * minimal (c) openigloo amenities
Has a great location
Former Tenant
Pros:
the location was great and (c) openigloo the people in the building (c) openigloo are truly nice
Cons:
the washing machine
It’s fine. This is a condo building.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The unit itself is quiet (c) openigloo in that I don’t hear (c) openigloo people walking upstairs, but I (c) openigloo do hear hallway activity and (c) openigloo cars outside. It is a (c) openigloo spacious studio and there are (c) openigloo ceiling lights and central air (c) openigloo when it works. It fits (c) openigloo a king bed and has (c) openigloo space for a large couch (c) openigloo and 6 seat dining table. (c) openigloo I installed custom closets from (c) openigloo Container Store—you are welcome. The building (c) openigloo has 24h door men and (c) openigloo a key fob system for (c) openigloo added security measure in the (c) openigloo evenings. You can get Fios (c) openigloo and the building does not (c) openigloo discriminate against dog breeds or (c) openigloo size. Some of the doormen (c) openigloo have treats at their desk (c) openigloo and will give your dog (c) openigloo one every time you come (c) openigloo back home.
Cons:
The building has been bandaid (c) openigloo repaired over the years so (c) openigloo there are always heating/cooling system (c) openigloo repairs during shoulder seasons, which (c) openigloo leaves weeks of extreme heat (c) openigloo in late summer or cold (c) openigloo in late winter. The elevators (c) openigloo are always breaking. There is (c) openigloo technically a shared common space (c) openigloo with a small gym that (c) openigloo has the basics. No roof. (c) openigloo The unit itself is managed (c) openigloo by CFA management, which is (c) openigloo a joke of a company. (c) openigloo Carole Ferrara, the manager/owner, does (c) openigloo not email back for weeks (c) openigloo at a time, disregards rental (c) openigloo laws, and is quite frankly (c) openigloo just dumb. She raised the (c) openigloo rent above 5% twice without (c) openigloo giving 90 days notice. The (c) openigloo first time was resolved 4 (c) openigloo months after (and the increase (c) openigloo ended up netting out to (c) openigloo the price I wanted to (c) openigloo negotiate for because of her (c) openigloo delay) and the second time (c) openigloo was not resolved because I (c) openigloo decided to move. I sent (c) openigloo her an email asking for (c) openigloo 90 days and she said (c) openigloo “it’s a free market thing” (c) openigloo and subsequently ignored all of (c) openigloo my other emails/concerns. When I (c) openigloo decided to move out, she (c) openigloo emailed back accusing me of (c) openigloo “pulling a stunt” and a (c) openigloo bunch of other rude and (c) openigloo incorrect statements. She is an (c) openigloo unfunny joke and it’s a (c) openigloo better use of your time (c) openigloo finding another unit than to (c) openigloo deal with her. There is zero (c) openigloo sunlight in the apartment—it is (c) openigloo about 10 feet from an (c) openigloo office building so you can (c) openigloo watch people at work. There (c) openigloo is a primitive dishwasher that (c) openigloo is directly under the sink (c) openigloo and the refrigerator is an (c) openigloo ice box—it is the size (c) openigloo of a large mini fridge (c) openigloo with no temperature and air (c) openigloo filters so your food doesn’t (c) openigloo last long. No one changes (c) openigloo the air filter; I guess (c) openigloo you do it yourself because (c) openigloo it’s a condo—or maybe it’s (c) openigloo another testament to how crappy (c) openigloo CFA is at her job.
Advice to owner:
Hire a new management company
Amazing stay in the Huys condominium
Former Tenant
Pros:
I stayed in a 1-bed (c) openigloo Huys condo when I first (c) openigloo moved to New York city. (c) openigloo The building architecture and construction (c) openigloo is top-notch. The staff is (c) openigloo fantastic and very helpful in (c) openigloo accommodating most requests. I did (c) openigloo not use the amenities much (c) openigloo but the roof deck was (c) openigloo nice enough for a building (c) openigloo of Huys size. Probably the (c) openigloo best part of living in (c) openigloo Huys as a tenant was (c) openigloo that the building is very (c) openigloo empty in the summer months, (c) openigloo almost like you have it (c) openigloo to yourself.
Cons:
I had a terrible time (c) openigloo dealing with the property owner's (c) openigloo agent who had the unit (c) openigloo up for sale during my (c) openigloo entire tenancy.
Well-run building with very nice staff
Former Tenant
Pros:
The Bromley is a really (c) openigloo nice building on the upper (c) openigloo west side. I've lived here (c) openigloo for 1 1/2 years as (c) openigloo a tenant and the staff (c) openigloo has been the best part (c) openigloo about living here (especially Richard). (c) openigloo The building is well maintained, (c) openigloo kept clean, and noise levels (c) openigloo (Despite overlooking Broadway on the (c) openigloo west) are manageable. I've met (c) openigloo several people who've raised their (c) openigloo children in this building.
Cons:
A few months after I (c) openigloo moved in, work began on (c) openigloo the façade of the building (c) openigloo in accordance with Local Law (c) openigloo 11. Despite being repeatedly told (c) openigloo that the work would end (c) openigloo by the winter of 2022, (c) openigloo it continued until the summer (c) openigloo of 2023. This impacted my (c) openigloo ability to work from home. (c) openigloo While the building staff and (c) openigloo condo owners cannot expedite construction (c) openigloo work, I wish I had (c) openigloo been told about pending façade (c) openigloo work before moving into the (c) openigloo building.
