Reviews

Good for early 20s
Former Tenant
Pros:
Side of bedrooms / new (c) openigloo applicanss
Cons:
Hard leak issues
Not horrible, not great
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice apartment overall with newer (c) openigloo appliances
Cons:
Mice issues and garbage is (c) openigloo poorly managed, management isn’t great (c) openigloo and very slow. They also (c) openigloo made a change in landlord (c) openigloo without telling anyone and no (c) openigloo one knows the new phone (c) openigloo number for him.
401 East 50th
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice new renovated units
Cons:
There are rats out by (c) openigloo the garbage and it can (c) openigloo be loud at time.
Nice college dorm style apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
great area near everything, accessible
Cons:
feels like you’re in college
Cool but not cool
Former Tenant
Pros:
The inside of the apartment (c) openigloo is modern.
Cons:
My bathroom ceiling is breaking (c) openigloo and I get no response (c) openigloo from maintenance or super to (c) openigloo come fix it.
Advice to owner:
Get your shit together
Not the best, not the worst
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management is usually responsive when (c) openigloo emailing Apartment is newly renovated and (c) openigloo has lots of natural light
Cons:
Heat and hot water broke (c) openigloo several times during the dead (c) openigloo of winter
Nice building in Gramercy
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing size bedrooms, W/D in (c) openigloo unit, nice neighborhood and neighbors!!
Cons:
Elevators usually broken, packages can (c) openigloo be stolen, have seen cockroaches (c) openigloo and mice ONLY IN BASEMENT the (c) openigloo tap water is awful. tastes (c) openigloo disgusting
Advice to owner:
n/a
Inhumane water hammer + stolen packages but with a beautiful kitchen island
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful renovations, great location, kitchen (c) openigloo island
Cons:
The management refused to fix (c) openigloo the horrible water hammer banging (c) openigloo noise that went off all (c) openigloo winter long due to a (c) openigloo pipe in our heater pitched (c) openigloo wrong. We couldn’t sleep through (c) openigloo the night (even with massive (c) openigloo white noise machines and headphones) (c) openigloo from October-April. Imagine two pans (c) openigloo clanging together every couple of (c) openigloo hours for an hour at (c) openigloo a time. We tried everything (c) openigloo but the beauty of the (c) openigloo apt is not worth going (c) openigloo insane with no sleep.
Advice to owner:
Fix the packages, lock the laundry room door so people cant sneak in to smoke in the hallways at night, and fix the heater banging noise.
BE aware of management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building was pretty secure.
Cons:
you have no control over (c) openigloo the heat. You have a (c) openigloo control in your apartment but (c) openigloo you have no control. so (c) openigloo if you cook in your (c) openigloo apartment be prepared for it (c) openigloo to be 98. Very little (c) openigloo hot water. The management company (c) openigloo is literally worst. I had (c) openigloo such issues moving out. they (c) openigloo lie.
Advice to owner:
Hire new people cause the management at the time not good people.
Decent building with limited communication from Managment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Water pressure is great. Our (c) openigloo neighbors are quiet and respectful. (c) openigloo It’s a great location for (c) openigloo someone in their early 20s. (c) openigloo The apartments are small, but (c) openigloo they do have pretty great (c) openigloo finishings. The counter tops are (c) openigloo granite, and the showers are (c) openigloo tiled and seem to have (c) openigloo been renovated recently.
Cons:
Management takes a little longer (c) openigloo to respond than I would (c) openigloo like. Handymen/Exterminators just show up (c) openigloo without any warning from management. (c) openigloo At least they are showing (c) openigloo up, though. When we moved (c) openigloo in there was a pretty (c) openigloo serious cockroach problem. There was (c) openigloo no one living in our (c) openigloo unit for at least 2 (c) openigloo months before, so they had (c) openigloo plenty of time to call (c) openigloo an exterminator before we moved (c) openigloo in and blocked a lot (c) openigloo of the trim with our (c) openigloo furniture. The heat doesn’t work (c) openigloo all that well. I’m not (c) openigloo one to usually complain about (c) openigloo that since I’d rather be (c) openigloo cold than too hot, but (c) openigloo on the coldest days this (c) openigloo winter, it was 45 degrees (c) openigloo in my room in the (c) openigloo morning, which is tough. When (c) openigloo we were looking for apartments, (c) openigloo we saw that this building (c) openigloo said it had “Laundry in (c) openigloo Building”. This was simply not (c) openigloo true. The same management company (c) openigloo manages a few buildings on (c) openigloo this block, and the “Laundry (c) openigloo in building” was actually a (c) openigloo block away, and are quite (c) openigloo expensive. The trash situation could (c) openigloo be better, as we have (c) openigloo to walk half an avenue (c) openigloo to throw our trash away. (c) openigloo That may just be the (c) openigloo consequences of living on an (c) openigloo Avenue rather than a street (c) openigloo in NYC.
Advice to owner:
Remove the “Laundry in building” note when offering these apartments. This is simply not true.
