Reviews

Not the worse
Former Tenant
Pros:
Spacious, minimal noise, elevator, regular (c) openigloo apartment exterminator, and super in (c) openigloo the building. The super is (c) openigloo somewhat responsive but not always (c) openigloo reliable. Minimal pest presence inside (c) openigloo apartments.
Cons:
Not the cleanest. Halls do (c) openigloo not get cleaned often enough. (c) openigloo Sometimes there is garbage and (c) openigloo spills for days on end. (c) openigloo Hot water will disappear without (c) openigloo notice. Foul smells sometimes. Rats (c) openigloo in garbage disposal area. You (c) openigloo have to mail rent check (c) openigloo or visit the office to (c) openigloo pay in person.
Advice to owner:
Consistent heat and hot water needed. Cleaner and remodeled halls. Things have not been updated in years. Also it's inconvenient to not accept other form of payint rent besides cash or check. An online or billpay system will be more convenient.
a Landlord Review
Former Tenant
Pros:
I liked how hardworking and (c) openigloo responsive the super is. he's (c) openigloo awesome
Cons:
not sure, if ive seen (c) openigloo the landlord tbh. the neighbors (c) openigloo can get dirty. they would (c) openigloo also take ur clothes out (c) openigloo of the machines if youre (c) openigloo a second too late lol
Great Building, Continued Harassment from Landlord and Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartments themselves are nice-looking, (c) openigloo but most furnishings, amenities, and (c) openigloo appliances have significant wear and (c) openigloo it takes effort to get (c) openigloo them replaced. Some of the (c) openigloo wear is dangerous (think smells (c) openigloo of gas, burning rubber, unsecured (c) openigloo floorboards in outdoor spaces, smoking (c) openigloo treadmills, etc.), and some should (c) openigloo just be expected from a (c) openigloo 10 year old building (cabinets (c) openigloo falling off hinges, faucet knobs (c) openigloo falling midst-bath, etc.). Overall would be (c) openigloo a nice place to live (c) openigloo and even "luxurious" if the (c) openigloo landlord would do minimal upkeep.
Cons:
MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE. There is so (c) openigloo much potential here, yet the (c) openigloo landlord is impossible to speak (c) openigloo with and the building manager (c) openigloo is abrasive. For the life (c) openigloo of most tenants at the (c) openigloo time of this review, we (c) openigloo cannot understand why the landlord (c) openigloo employs her given that we (c) openigloo all escalate things directly to (c) openigloo him at this point. As mentioned (c) openigloo in earlier pros - everything (c) openigloo needs an update essentially but (c) openigloo good luck getting the building (c) openigloo manager to agree.
Advice to owner:
Get a new property manager.
Hood living
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location: across the street from (c) openigloo a park with quick access (c) openigloo to buses and trains.
Cons:
The tenants and neighbors. (c) openigloo Dirty people who throw things (c) openigloo out of the window, hang (c) openigloo in the court yard, and (c) openigloo generally just don't give af.
Advice to owner:
Take more pride in your upkeep and maybe tenants will want to take better care as well.
Roaches all over.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Elevator access. Decent neighbors. Close (c) openigloo to train.
Cons:
There are roaches everywhere you (c) openigloo turn. Especially if you enter (c) openigloo in the middle of the (c) openigloo night. Embarrassing if you have (c) openigloo guests. Even with the exterminator. (c) openigloo The building fired the doorman (c) openigloo so now anyone can come (c) openigloo in the building and mail (c) openigloo is just left at your (c) openigloo door and can be stolen. (c) openigloo Tenants have had to put (c) openigloo cameras up to prevent this. (c) openigloo They wait until the very (c) openigloo last minute to put up (c) openigloo heat in the winter. The (c) openigloo people outside play music until (c) openigloo 5am. Molding cracking walls. Ceilings (c) openigloo leak at times when neighbors (c) openigloo upstairs have water issue.
Advice to owner:
Stop neglecting the building.
Have been living in the building for 10 years now, can’t complain really.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Heating is great
Cons:
Haven’t found anything yet
Look else where
Former Tenant
Pros:
Not much here
Cons:
Gas has been off for (c) openigloo a whole year and we (c) openigloo had to use small stoves (c) openigloo to cook. Still not fixed
Advice to owner:
fix the gas problems
Don’t rent here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to transit
Cons:
Very poor maintenance from Managment, (c) openigloo rents apartments illegally ( with (c) openigloo built partitions to charge renters (c) openigloo more money). Supper is never (c) openigloo around to fix anything. Landlord (c) openigloo don’t fix anything in building.
High ConEdison bills not pay for heat
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building Structure is good
Cons:
Celling noise machines Bad maintenance (c) openigloo on Engines Do not pay (c) openigloo for heat Very high coned (c) openigloo bills Not allow tenents (c) openigloo meetings association No super during (c) openigloo bussiness hours
Advice to owner:
Change management and super
Don’t move here
Former Tenant
Pros:
I like that they are (c) openigloo finally enforcing the no smoke (c) openigloo rule after years of people (c) openigloo leaving their cigarette buds and (c) openigloo weed garbage on the floors.
Cons:
I don’t think there’s enough (c) openigloo time or space for me (c) openigloo to describe how awful this (c) openigloo building is. First, I have (c) openigloo neighbors below and next to (c) openigloo me playing music so loud (c) openigloo that my furniture vibrates. If (c) openigloo it’s not them, you can (c) openigloo hear music from the other (c) openigloo side of the building two (c) openigloo floors down. Next, is the (c) openigloo awful smoke smell that bleeds (c) openigloo into apartments because people are (c) openigloo too lazy to leave the (c) openigloo building or smoke in their (c) openigloo apartments. There’s are always garbage. (c) openigloo The elevators break every single (c) openigloo week; every single week there’s (c) openigloo a problem with the elevator (c) openigloo because one of the supers (c) openigloo constantly hold it on the (c) openigloo second floor.people steal packages in (c) openigloo this building because the delivery (c) openigloo people are too lazy to (c) openigloo go upstairs. Even when they (c) openigloo go upstairs people will steal (c) openigloo your packages from your door. (c) openigloo Asking the building manager to (c) openigloo do his job is like (c) openigloo telling a toddler to pick (c) openigloo up his toy, he throws (c) openigloo a temper tantrum and gives (c) openigloo you an attitude. You have (c) openigloo to threaten to call 311 (c) openigloo for him and the real (c) openigloo estate agency to give a (c) openigloo crap. He knows there are (c) openigloo many cracks in our wall (c) openigloo and ceiling but has yet (c) openigloo to do anything, it’s been (c) openigloo a few months since his (c) openigloo visit. Landlord gets the cheapest (c) openigloo people possible who probably aren’t (c) openigloo even certified to do their (c) openigloo jobs because he’s a cheap (c) openigloo person. He’s one step away (c) openigloo from being a slumlord.
Advice to owner:
Maybe take care of the buildings you own rather than just leave them to rot Jacob.
