Reviews

Do not rent here
Former Tenant
Pros:
Friendly neighbors, a sense of (c) openigloo community
Cons:
Elevator was not fixed for (c) openigloo 6 months, no apologies, no (c) openigloo speed to fix it, no (c) openigloo rent reduction or pause, sent (c) openigloo someone from management to appease (c) openigloo us but gave us no (c) openigloo answers. Cockroaches. Scaffolding was left (c) openigloo up for years.
Advice to owner:
Stop being a slumlord
decent apartment building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super and porter are (c) openigloo very nice, the elevator works (c) openigloo 99% of the time, the (c) openigloo neighbors are generally very sweet, (c) openigloo the building is pet friendly
Cons:
Landlord and property management are (c) openigloo impossible to get ahold of, (c) openigloo pest management is terrible
Advice to owner:
please communicate more with tenants and give some form of contact where we can immediately reach someone during business hours
Good deal but NYC pests
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent controlled, nice super, great (c) openigloo location. Key fob entry
Cons:
Pests (roaches, mice). Lobby and (c) openigloo stairwell a bit gross. Some (c) openigloo package thefts
Psychotic super from nightmares
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice location, close to the (c) openigloo water
Cons:
The super is a monster The (c) openigloo building is impossible to contact
Advice to owner:
Hire a new super
Like any other Bronx apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s quiet and neighbors are (c) openigloo nice
Cons:
They take a while to (c) openigloo repair things and there are (c) openigloo a lot of mice
old and not maintained
Former Tenant
Pros:
big apartments, nice wooden floors (c) openigloo pre war building
Cons:
haunted elevator, excessive heat, roaches, (c) openigloo mice, UGLY common areas
Advice to owner:
actually do your job
Great location, terrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's across the street from (c) openigloo a park Neighbors are mostly quiet (c) openigloo and friendly, aside from the (c) openigloo more elderly tenants, which act (c) openigloo as if the building is (c) openigloo theirs just because they've lived (c) openigloo there since the dawn of (c) openigloo time
Cons:
Mold Roaches Mice Dilapidated conditions in tiles, bathroom, (c) openigloo kitchen that go unrepaired The laziest (c) openigloo superintendent in all of the (c) openigloo Bronx Management office employees are rude (c) openigloo and/or unresponsive Heat is arbitrarily (c) openigloo turned on, even when it's (c) openigloo below 50º outside
Advice to owner:
Answer the helpline emails; reimburse tenants for repairs and upgrades that you refuse to make; fire Cynthia and Melba and hire people with compassion and professionalism
It’s good for what it is
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to transit, between two (c) openigloo churches
Cons:
Loud radiator, loud elevator, high (c) openigloo price
Advice to owner:
Lower the rent
A day and 87 Elwood
Former Tenant

Cons:

Advice to owner:
A lot of maintenance and plumber work
You’re on your own.
Former Tenant
Pros:
The guy who manages the (c) openigloo waste and cleans the building (c) openigloo does a great job. He’s (c) openigloo cool.
Cons:
1. Good luck getting a (c) openigloo hold of management. 2. If you (c) openigloo ever want to switch apartments, (c) openigloo the gatekeeper Sibura will make (c) openigloo up any excuse to keep (c) openigloo you from applying. She made (c) openigloo up rules that don’t exist (c) openigloo in Section 8 to discourage (c) openigloo me from applying for an (c) openigloo upstairs apartment I’d inquired about (c) openigloo before it was even on (c) openigloo the market. Make sure you (c) openigloo contact a case worker with (c) openigloo questions because she will give (c) openigloo you the runaround, discourage you, (c) openigloo or make things up. 3. My (c) openigloo neighbor downstairs has been complaining (c) openigloo about a leak that has (c) openigloo basically dissolved their bathroom ceiling. (c) openigloo The plumbers they sent made (c) openigloo a hole (removed part of (c) openigloo the old dingy tiles) and (c) openigloo left the bathroom looking terrible. (c) openigloo Now there’s a spot with (c) openigloo no tiles. And the leak (c) openigloo is still not fixed. 4. (c) openigloo The electric wiring is SUPER (c) openigloo old meaning you can’t make (c) openigloo any upgrades because there is (c) openigloo no grounding wire. The old (c) openigloo bulb style fuses blow if (c) openigloo you have too many things (c) openigloo connected. The Kitchen, living room (c) openigloo and bedrooms share the same (c) openigloo line so if you have (c) openigloo a large fridge, microwave, tv, (c) openigloo and AC going you can’t (c) openigloo just connect a blow dryer (c) openigloo or a fan. 5. The ceilings (c) openigloo are high (which is a (c) openigloo pro) but only because the (c) openigloo floors are thin. So there (c) openigloo is no noise absorbing insulation (c) openigloo between you and your neighbor’s (c) openigloo running child upstairs. I can (c) openigloo hear my downstairs neighbor cough. (c) openigloo 6. Only one elevator. And (c) openigloo it goes out VERY frequently.
