Pros:
-Fantastic location
-Elevator always works, (c) openigloo even if old and slow.
-Large (c) openigloo fire escape
-Door buzzer
Cons:
-Single-pane windows: street noise completely (c) openigloo unfiltered, and zero insulation means (c) openigloo sky-high energy bills.
-Gas-powered, through-wall forced-air (c) openigloo heating: Dangerous and loud. All (c) openigloo units have a painted-over gas (c) openigloo pipe running through the bedroom (c) openigloo to the window.
-Poorly managed trash: (c) openigloo exposed trash cans with no (c) openigloo enclosure are kept on the (c) openigloo sidewalk in front of the (c) openigloo building, feeding the rats that (c) openigloo live in the abandoned community (c) openigloo garden next door. The smell (c) openigloo and the fly situation means (c) openigloo street-facing units cannot open their (c) openigloo windows.
-Only drywall between units, zero (c) openigloo soundproofing. Doorbells and conversations can (c) openigloo be heard between adjacent units, (c) openigloo from hallways, as well as (c) openigloo through ceilings/floors. Carpets make no (c) openigloo noticeable difference.
-Shoddy renovations in most (c) openigloo units. Tile-over-tile, gaps in grout, (c) openigloo peeling/bubbling paint with obvious lap (c) openigloo marks, mold in wood that’s (c) openigloo been patched or painted over, (c) openigloo missing smoke detectors, dead outlets, (c) openigloo leaky plumbing.
-Rusty orange hot (c) openigloo water in showers.
-Janitorial staff and (c) openigloo property management take great liberties (c) openigloo with their key copies, often (c) openigloo failing to properly obtain tenants (c) openigloo permission when accessing their units.
-Constant (c) openigloo gas smells in lobby. Property (c) openigloo management has asked tenants not (c) openigloo to call Con-Ed, saying they’ll (c) openigloo “handle it themselves.”
Advice to owner:
Please make an effort to at least bring the building up to fire code, for the safety of both current and future residents.
