Reviews

Great building, getting expensive
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great building, huge apartments, good (c) openigloo utilities and fixings
Cons:
not much natural light in (c) openigloo the inside apartments, getting very (c) openigloo expensive
The best building!
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great, and (c) openigloo the staff is wonderful. The (c) openigloo units are super spacious and (c) openigloo some have in-unit W/D
Cons:
Management isn’t great and are (c) openigloo not accommodating with renewals
Pretty solid building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean and quiet
Cons:
Some small presence of pests
Great for pre war
Former Tenant
Pros:
High ceilings, they don’t blast (c) openigloo the heat in the winter
Cons:
The rent jumps up by (c) openigloo hundreds every year, the pipes (c) openigloo vibrate
96 5th Ave
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing staff, great location, spacious (c) openigloo apartments
Cons:
Owner doesn't turn on AC (c) openigloo until June 1; very expensive
You get what you pay for…
Former Tenant
Pros:
• Covid rent deal
Cons:
• illegal security deposit practices • (c) openigloo Frequently stolen packages • Contrary (c) openigloo to what’s advertised, the super (c) openigloo doesn't live on site. • Spectrum (c) openigloo internet connection frequently fails. • Disorganized (c) openigloo management • Constant health code (c) openigloo violations/fines on the building.
Advice to owner:
Implement a payment portal.
Nice building staff, quiet apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet apartment, nice building staff
Cons:
Most washers and dryers in (c) openigloo laundry room don’t work, cockroaches (c) openigloo in unit (but responsive management (c) openigloo to help), yellow mold
Advice to owner:
Repair laundry
The worst building & management company I’ve seen in 15 yrs
Former Tenant
Pros:
I’d be hard-pressed to think (c) openigloo of the benefits of this (c) openigloo building or the management company.
Cons:
First rule of moving to (c) openigloo NYC. Don’t lease with Solil (c) openigloo or Jane Goldman’s firm. They (c) openigloo are both incredibly difficult to (c) openigloo deal with, disorganized, don’t do (c) openigloo what they said and agreed (c) openigloo they would do, and don’t (c) openigloo uphold their end of the (c) openigloo bargain. We have lived in (c) openigloo NYC for 10+ years and (c) openigloo this is by far and (c) openigloo away the worst landlord we (c) openigloo have ever dealt with. Here are (c) openigloo a few other points: -Windows are (c) openigloo old and drafty -Incredibly noisy on (c) openigloo 2nd Avenue. You hear EVERYTHING. (c) openigloo -The elevator frequently breaks down -No (c) openigloo trash or recycling on the (c) openigloo floor—you have to wait for (c) openigloo a long time to go (c) openigloo to the basement
Advice to owner:
Run a good business where you respect and do the right thing by your tenants and customers
Good enough, but not well kept
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice layout in terms of (c) openigloo apartment space. High cielings. Old (c) openigloo charm. Didnt have pest issues (c) openigloo in unit.
Cons:
Slow response times. Lots of (c) openigloo pests by building entrance where (c) openigloo garbage is (outside). Poor building (c) openigloo upkeep in general (old rugs (c) openigloo needed paint)
Nice stay but dated
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, very safe and lots (c) openigloo of restaurants nearby
Cons:
Old building, way too hot (c) openigloo during winter - not enough (c) openigloo airflow for my apartment layout
