Reviews

A jem during covid
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great Location, clean, friendly staff, (c) openigloo big bedroom
Cons:
- Windows insulation, -hotel next (c) openigloo door was converted to shelter (c) openigloo recently and became very loud (c) openigloo at night, - soon after (c) openigloo covid , rent fee skyrocketed (c) openigloo (surprise surprise)
Advice to owner:
Focus more on good tenants retention
Disgusting and dehumanizing building, avoid at all costs
Former Tenant
Pros:
I don’t know
Cons:
Management is rather unresponsive and (c) openigloo intentionally ignores tenants for reporting (c) openigloo conditions like rodent infestations; there (c) openigloo is so much trash piled (c) openigloo up in the common area (c) openigloo that you can’t be in (c) openigloo the hallways without holding your (c) openigloo breath or you might vomit. (c) openigloo It’s rather dehumanizing when management (c) openigloo ignores these issues and they (c) openigloo persist for many months. I (c) openigloo would avoid this building as (c) openigloo long as it’s managed by (c) openigloo this company.
Advice to owner:
Get a new property manager
Good building. Ok!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice and clean. Great super (c) openigloo and staff.
Cons:
Dog barking and shelter next (c) openigloo door.
Apartment nice, location bad
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartments are huge which is (c) openigloo really the selling point. There’s (c) openigloo laundry downstairs also and pest (c) openigloo management comes around every 1-2 (c) openigloo months
Cons:
The location (personal preference) is (c) openigloo awful. It’s on a dead (c) openigloo end street, but it’s the (c) openigloo surprisingly loud for there being (c) openigloo nothing around due to con (c) openigloo Edison directly across the street (c) openigloo and it’s situated between two (c) openigloo schools. Sometimes the parents for (c) openigloo school drop off will honk (c) openigloo and start screaming in the (c) openigloo street early in the morning. (c) openigloo Con Edison sometimes does construction (c) openigloo for days on end.
3 year renter
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing super and staff that (c) openigloo work in the building. Neighbors (c) openigloo were friendly And quiet.
Cons:
Management was rude and short (c) openigloo anytime we spoke to them. (c) openigloo No dishwasher in units. Older (c) openigloo building that needs some love (c) openigloo and care.
Great bargain, but a walk up
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet, safe street. Large bedrooms
Cons:
5th floor walk up with (c) openigloo laundry in the basement
Pretty good for the price
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet, large rooms, cool in (c) openigloo the summer, reasonably priced
Cons:
Super takes forever to fix (c) openigloo something, really hot in the (c) openigloo winter, old appliances, bath tub (c) openigloo doesn’t work only shower
Advice to owner:
Send your security deposits back, it’s not your money
Good Building, Bad Neighbors
Former Tenant
Pros:
Excellent management team and building (c) openigloo personnel. Highly responsive. The super (c) openigloo is about 147 years old, (c) openigloo but is super sharp and (c) openigloo he gets the job done, (c) openigloo along with his fantastic team. (c) openigloo Great maintenance, garbage and recycling (c) openigloo areas. Good laundry facility in (c) openigloo basement. Small secure package room (c) openigloo to prevent theft. Elevators reliable, (c) openigloo if a little slow at (c) openigloo peak times. Good COVID-19 policies, (c) openigloo although not all tenants follow (c) openigloo the rules.
Cons:
They’re renting now to a (c) openigloo lot of younger first time (c) openigloo renters who apparently don’t know (c) openigloo how to behave in a (c) openigloo rental property: raucous parties 2 (c) openigloo or 3 times a week (c) openigloo and a lot of noise. (c) openigloo Lots of yappy dogs in (c) openigloo this building that you can (c) openigloo hear in your apartment. No (c) openigloo posted or established smoking policy, (c) openigloo as required by law. You (c) openigloo can often smell cigarette smoke (c) openigloo in the lobby and basement. (c) openigloo Pot smoke on most floors, (c) openigloo which seeps into others’ apartments. (c) openigloo Neighborhood has changed due to (c) openigloo the pandemic... homeless shelter now (c) openigloo located next door in hotel. (c) openigloo Many no longer feel safe (c) openigloo walking home at night; lots (c) openigloo of drug addicts and pan (c) openigloo handlers.
Advice to owner:
Need stricter rules about noise and parties. In fact, you should probably have “House Rules” posted that all need to follow. Post a smoking policy and get building staff to adhere to it.
