Pros:
The location of this building is great, as it is only a 5-minute walk to the Macy Avenue station (serving both Line M and J) and is located in a safe area. Downtown Williamsburg is also just a 10-minute walk away.
Cons:
The garbage operation in the center of the building can be noisy early in the morning and cockroaches have been reported. Additionally, while the central heating is usually warm, it may not be sufficient in some rooms during the night.
Advice to owner:
More frequent pest control and better central heating in some rooms are needed.

Don’t expect much… front door has been busted for months.

Nobody bothered to smooth out the caulk in the bathroom, so there are beads and huge gaps that foster black mold. Door buzzer has been broken for months, maybe over a year. Landlord wants to demand higher rent now while rent stabilization has been removed, yet won’t even fix the building.
Advice to owner:
Fix the door buzzer so we don’t have to run up and down for deliveries and guests!

My apartment is the only thing I loved about living in this building. When I moved in I received the apartment brand new. New stainless steel appliances, new hard wooden floor, clean white walls, new bathroom, new doors, new windows. It was the best ever
Cons:
However, the garbage system in this building is horrible, horrendous and extremely disgusting. The neighbors are lazy to walk to the actual bins and decided to toss their garbage bags in the quad, next to the back door of the building. The laundry room is in the building behind the actual building meaning you gotta walk and cross the quad to get to the laundry room where all the nasty garbage is always laying out in the quad. The laundry room smells like a dead person to say the least. I can’t describe the foul smell. I feel like puking each time I go in there to do laundry. Only reason I go sometimes is cause it’s affordable. It’s not even free. The main lobby is never clean. Kids decided it’s cute to write vague words on the walls and it’s been almost 2 months and management hasn’t done much about the graffiti on the walls. Main door is usually always broken too. Camera security never works and packages get stolen from time to time
Advice to owner:
Please get the garbage system better and keep the lobby clean. Get security camera la on lobby working and on each floor

The only thing is probably that it’s Cheaper than most things in the area - but you get what you pay for. Tons of things around and target/TJs down the street.
Cons:
the mgmt company couldn’t care less, super unresponsive. We had a hole the size of a basketball in our ceiling dripping water for close to a month before they did anything, and then their suggestion was “put a garbage bag” over it until they could fix it. Depends on the apartment. Don’t expect heat in the winter if you move into our spot, we complained numerous times in the years and got absolutely nowhere - meanwhile our neighbor has to keep the ac on it’s so intense in there. Toilets - do you like taking a shit and worrying about getting backsplashed? Then this is the place for you. Randomly the toilet bubbles and for over a year they have now told us the piping is fine. Not sure if the piping or the neighbors don’t know how to wipe properly, but it’s the worst game of Russian Roulette you can imagine 👌
Advice to owner:
Putting any semblance of effort into this building instead of ignoring every email would be a great start.

loved being close to everything, the neighborhood was fun. Target and Trader Joes are very close
Cons:
God where do I start?? The noise level in this is building is the worst I have ever experienced. The walls are paper thin, you can hear conversations of next door neighbors and the ones upstairs. I had a lunatic as a next door neighbor who would threaten us all the time. They were a danger to themselves and us and the management still wouldn't throw them out.

Take more action when it comes to the safety of your tenants!!!

Apartment is alright but building falling a part and mgmt unresponsive

I don't have any major issues with my apartment - only a couple small pests. Carlos the maintenance guys is very nice and helpful. My unit is rent stabilized so the rent is reasonable and will not increase drastically each year.
Cons:
Building is kind of gross and falling apart. Parts of the ceiling are falling or leaking. I get packages stolen quite a bit. People smoke in the staircase a ton. There's also guys that just hang out in the staircase often. Management is completely unresponsive. I have reached out to them about packages, the smoking, people loitering in the staircase and they will not respond at all.
Advice to owner:
Respond to your tenants and actually do something. Take better care of your buildings.

The only good thing about the apartment are the high ceilings.
Cons:
It's an old building with old building problems. The super takes months to fix any problems and when he does, it's with cheap materials and some guys he finds off the street. The building manager is a creep, he's a pinstripe suit away from looking like a goon, completely useless. Most of the neighbors are nice people but there's a handful that are just the lowest of the low. They trash the building common areas are well as the sidewalks, play loud repetitive music at odd hours, and leave cigarette buds all over the stairs.

I wish problems got fixed instead of being downplayed and delayed.

-It’s a great neighborhood. -Tons of public transportation options -Decent apartments (could use an upgrade For the price)

-The restaurants downstairs are loud and dirty. -People stand in front of the building smoking at all hours of the day/night and it makes it hard to get in and out of the building (also, with covid it’s uncomfortable to pass by them). -Packages get stolen regularly -Hot water is on and off -Stairwells are dirty -new crop of young 20 somethings moved in, it sounds like a frat house at night, especially on weekends. -red solo cups in the stairwells -it’s hard to get the super to do any maintenance work (but he is a very nice guy) -mice and cockroach problem -loose tiles in the lobby -Tiny bedrooms -Spotty heat

The garbage area is always disgusting. Management is very unresponsive. People are always smoking weed and cigarettes in the building. Sometimes you find people sleeping in the hallway and and stairs and pretty sure people sell drugs in the building and in front of the building.
