Review Summary for 226 Avenue B
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenant reviews of 226 Avenue B praise its prime East Village location, proximity to the L train, and some appealing apartment layouts suited for young renters. Neighbors are generally friendly, and the neighborhood offers convenience with nearby stores like Trader Joe’s. However, the building suffers from significant management neglect, unresponsiveness, and maintenance issues including faulty heating, inconsistent hot water, pest infestations (cockroaches, mice), cleanliness problems, and structural concerns like slanted floors and leaks. Noise levels and lack of amenities are additional drawbacks. While the location attracts renters, improvements in pest control, maintenance, and management responsiveness are crucial for a better living experience.
