Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent renter reviews for 208 West 23 Street, Manhattan highlight a building with a prime Chelsea location, responsive and friendly staff, including doormen and maintenance, and well-maintained communal areas such as a rooftop deck and gym. Tenants appreciate quick repair responses and efficient services like laundry and package handling. However, common concerns include pest issues (particularly roaches), occasional noise from neighbors and street, small apartment sizes with thin walls, and high rent increases. Some tenants report building infrastructure challenges like noisy heating pipes, recurring construction, and water pressure inconsistencies. Overall, while management and location are strong points, improvements in pest control, noise mitigation, and rent policies would benefit residents.

Great staff- super responsive
Former Tenant
Pros:
Staff is super responsive and always helpful! If you put in a complaint the night of they’re there the next day.
Cons:
Roaches. Since it’s a prewar they can be occasionally in the basement. Make sure to cover your sinks at all times because they will come up that too and holes in walls! I’ve seen 3 in my apt in the past year!
Advice to owner:
Work on pest control a bit more

Great building overall
Former Tenant
Pros:
We stayed 1y in this building and had a great experience. Nice doormen, good quality appliances and when something broke, it got fixed really fast. Noise levels were really doable. We never heard upstairs neighbors. Staff is really nice. Location is great too with lots of connections with subway
Cons:
The building tends run quite hot but that's a NYC thing While the location is good, we didn't love the area, it's quite busy on 23rd st.
