Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 333 East 56 Street highlight excellent cleanliness, well-maintained amenities including a gym, pool, rooftop, and on-site laundry, and friendly, helpful staff particularly doormen and porters. The building feels safe and well-managed with responsive ownership. However, some concerns include occasional tenant conflicts in communal areas like the laundry room, issues with pest control and noise levels, and reports of bias from management toward minority tenants. Water pressure and heating performance vary by unit, with some facing hard water challenges. Overall, it’s a desirable Midtown East location praised for its services and security, but management should focus on equitable tenant treatment and resolving communal tensions.

Good place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
I lived here for 2 years. The doormen and porters are excellent and very friendly. I always felt safe. The gym is great, pool is awesome, and roof is great when not under construction.
Cons:
The neighbors can be tough. If someone leaves their clothes in the laundry for a minute too late, it is customary for the neighbors to throw that individuals clothes on the floor. There have been some squabbles in the laundry room. There was also too much construction.
Advice to owner:
Continue to keep your great doormen. Make sure some people aren’t ruining the experience for their neighbors.
