Building Report
Review Summary for 419 East 72 Street
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews for 419 East 72nd Street in Manhattan indicate mixed feedback. While some praise the ideal location and responsive management, others highlight significant concerns. Issues such as poor cleanliness, pest problems, noisy neighbors, and inadequate garbage management are consistent drawbacks. Rent increases during the pandemic without corresponding upgrades have also left tenants dissatisfied. Suggestions include more frequent garbage removal and renovations to common areas. Overall, the building's potential is hindered by maintenance issues, but its convenience and some positive aspects make it a viable option with room for improvement.

Worst building ever..do not move in
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is ok but not worth the living conditions while paying market
Cons:
Massive mouse problem
Noisy neighbors even police show up constantly
Filthy
Street garbage always overflowing

Overall great building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Responsive and relaxed management company, pest free, perfect location, well kept for the most part, nice quiet neighbors
Cons:
Space is small but it’s NYC so that’s expected, outdated appliances/finishes, if you live on the south side of the building it can be noisy from the busy street, hallways could use some updating/fresh paint, sometimes garbage outside is overflowing
Advice to owner:
Maybe have the garbage removed more often to prevent overflow

Well your close to the park
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is killer
Cons:
Old not well maintained building. The common areea is never cleaned by management. Numerous chipped tiles on stairway and the walls are filthy.. The garbage outdoor overflows ad least 2 times a week.
Advice to owner:
Spend the money get a professional porter and renovate the common areas.

Low end cleanliness
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nothing to recommend but proximity to Q train
Cons:
Landlord raised the rent last March in spite of the pandemic! No decreases offered!!! Garbage and cleanliness is minimal
Advice to owner:
Don’t increase rent and then provide zero upgrades to the building or tenants especially during the pandemic!! This is the worst building on the block monitor other neighbors who dump their garbage or dog poo at the building too!
