Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Reviews for 223 East 85 Street reveal a building with a prime Upper East Side location, decent-sized apartments, and a valued super who provides helpful and friendly service, contributing significantly to tenant satisfaction. Residents commend the cleanliness of common areas and the quietness in many units. However, many tenants express serious concerns about management, citing poor responsiveness, delayed maintenance, and unresolved issues like mold, pests, and building aging signs such as leaky pipes and drafty windows. Noise in hallways and occasional unpleasant odors are noted. While neighbors are generally good, the building's upkeep and management communication require improvement to enhance the rental experience.

Valid building, extremely unresponsive leasing company
Former Tenant
Pros:
Responsive and nice super, pretty quiet and can’t hear neighbors, clean hallways
Cons:
The management/leasing company is nearly impossible to get in contact with. They are frankly awful. There is also mold in our apartment and there is no way to contact management to get it checked out. They only contact you when they want you to resign lease and often are delayed to even share that information with you.
