Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenants at 1771 First Avenue Loop praise the building's cleanliness, modern lobby, and laundry facilities. Positive feedback includes prompt fixes for most issues, yet pest control response varied. Criticismshighlight delayed maintenance, fluctuating rent, and occasional heating problems. Some residents faced leaks and rusty pipes. Approvals are mixed regarding the owner's responsiveness and overall building recommendation. Suggestions for improvement include better responsiveness, consistent maintenance, and addressing rent instability. Slow to replace broken appliances
Former Tenant
Pros:
Messes were cleaned up regularly
Cons:
They never replaced my broken appliance. I didn't realize at the time that this was a violation of rights as a tenant.
There were always issues with the washers and dryers in the basement

Decent place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
Laundry in the basement, the foyer entrance, garbage and recycling well maintained
Cons:
Ceiling leaked twice during my time there from the apartment above me, and the pipe underneath the sink rusted out.
Advice to owner:

Great first apartment experience!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Love that there’s laundry in building and that the lobby/ hallways feel modern and clean
Cons:
I haven’t had too many issues that weren’t fixed right away. The worst thing was discovering mice in my apartment which pest control did come as soon as they could but it did freak me out *a lot*. That might just come with living in NYC though, I’m not sure

Great location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, not too noisy, pretty spacious for a NYC apartment.
Cons:
Super wasn’t super responsive (see what I did there.) Had a hole in the ceiling that water was leaking through and kept asking for help with it. Never got help all year. Sometimes the heat wouldn’t work…always on the coldest days. Crazy rent fluctuations. Garbage area is filthy.
Advice to owner:
Great place but could be better.
