Review Summary for The Serrano
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 435 East 90 Street highlight a mix of well-maintained renovations, spacious apartments, and friendly neighbors alongside significant management issues. Many tenants praise the doormen and staff but criticize management for unresponsiveness, poor tenant relations, and mishandling maintenance requests. Elevator reliability stands out as a major problem, with frequent breakdowns causing safety concerns and long waits, especially in this high-rise. Ongoing construction and restricted rooftop access cause inconvenience without rent concessions. Pest problems and cleanliness inconsistencies have also been reported. Rent hikes are seen as excessive given the unresolved building issues. Prospective renters should weigh the appealing amenities against management challenges and building maintenance frustrations.
