Review Summary for 510 2 Avenue
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 510 2 Avenue, Manhattan highlight the building's clean, well-maintained apartments with modern finishes and responsive maintenance staff. Residents appreciate the quiet, friendly neighbors and overall good pest control. However, tenants frequently mention ongoing and disruptive construction work, notably prolonged balcony and exterior repairs. Noise from neighboring facilities and hospital sirens can be bothersome. Elevator reliability is a major concern, with frequent breakdowns affecting convenience and safety. Rent hikes without corresponding amenity improvements have been criticized. Despite these issues, many recommend the building for its location near Trader Joe’s and the East River, valuing its upkeep and management responsiveness.

Fine, But Loud and Overpriced
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice spacious apartments with modern finishings. Maintenance were always very prompt with maintenance requests and the staff on the mailroom were really nice. Staff in the leasing office were extremely helpful when organising a sublease/lease transfer.
Cons:
Elevators constantly out of service the entirety of the time I lived there. Walls are incredibly thin so you can hear everything that happens in the apartment next door and above. Price was high for what it was - outdoor areas were out of service the whole time I lived there, and there was constant construction with extremely high noise levels. HUGE rent increases. When I was leaving our rent (2 bed, 1 bath) increased by $1800, which coincided with the closure of the gym and even more construction. Neighbors were...interesting. There's a group home-type facility in all of the buildings, so if you're on the floor above or below, prepare to be awoken in the middle of the night to screaming, banging etc. Staff at front door were consistently rude.
