Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews of 535 East 14 Street, Manhattan, highlight its prime location near East Village and excellent value with spacious, well-maintained apartments. Tenants appreciate the responsive management, secure environment, and ample amenities including green spaces and pet-friendliness. The building is clean with good heating and water pressure. However, some residents note occasional elevator issues, pest problems particularly cockroaches, and noise disturbances from neighbors and ongoing nearby L train construction. Some units are older and may need renovations, and lower floors can have less natural light. Overall, it appeals to renters seeking convenience, safety, and community despite minor maintenance and noise challenges.

Great buillding, great price
Former Tenant
Pros:
I enjoyed living in StuyTown and this building is right on the border of the east village so it's the best of both worlds. Everything works pretty smoothly. Extremely good value apartment and very spacious. I love the Oval.
Cons:
Sometimes we had elevator problems and there were a few months where one elevator was down. At some point packages stopped consistently coming up to our doors which was pretty annoying. Occasionally maintenance requests take a while to be fulfilled unless you call

Stuytown ups and downs
Former Tenant
Pros:
This building was secure, largely clean, pretty spacious, and we were kept very informed of work happening
Cons:
The trash chutes are strangely small, the walls are very thin, if you get locked out the time to getting let in varies widely and resident services is often either unresponsive or just unhelpful
