Recent reviews of 385 Chauncey Street highlight concerns about safety and security issues, including frequent break-ins and theft. Tenants criticize management for poor responsiveness and accountability, urging upgrades to security measures and management practices. While some appreciate amenities like the rooftop and laundry facilities, noise levels, pest control, and neighbor situations are recurring drawbacks. The building's modern appearance is noted positively, but overall dissatisfaction with management's conduct prompts calls for change. Residents suggest prioritizing tenant safety and cleanliness for an improved living experience in the building despite its appealing features.

not safe at all
Former Tenant
Pros:
the shared rooftop and basement laundry is nice
Cons:
the building is not secure at all. packages are stolen from inside almost daily. people break in through the roof and basement to steal and squat.
know your rights, because management won’t respect them. last minute requests for access at all hours of the day, with no justification. unprofessional
building was destabilized some years back but does not actually meet the requirements for destabilization. greedy owner and sleazy management
Advice to owner:
upgrade security, fix management

Wasn’t the Safest
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rooftop, laundry, neighborhood
Cons:
The building got broken into while I was there, and my things were stolen out of the storage unit. The rooftop is beautiful but the trash was never taken out so a lot of pests and flies. The walls are super thin, you can hear conversations from next door. The rooms are VERY TINY.
Advice to owner:
Take cleanliness and security of tenants more seriously.
