Great building with nice charm

Great location, updated appliances, nice flooring.
Cons:
Maintenance of the building was disappointing. Garbage outside is not well taken care of, leading to rats under and around the stoop. Landlords do next to nothing to prevent pests, including ignoring the roach problem. Apartment was not cleaned well before move in. Regular apartment maintenance concerns are not addressed properly. Front door of the building does not lock unless the door is slammed. Doors in the apartment are old and do not latch. Laundry room machines are constantly broken. Rent is high for the area/space. Surprise monthly fees were added to the lease on move in day.
Advice to owner:
More regular upkeep of the building is needed (garbage, painting, replacing doors, fixing the broken wood in common spaces.)

Subpar Apartment on a Great Block

Pros:
Great area. Maintenance people are nice.
Cons:
Roaches, rats, and greedy landlords. Hidden fees all over the place. Extremely overpriced. Laundry is 50/50 whether it'll work or your clothes will be sitting in dirty water. Property is poorly maintained. Front door to the building doesn't always lock and doesn't feel secure at all. Trash overflows and attracts rats. Management will gaslight you and make all of these things your fault!

Units are renovated, dishwasher included! Wall unit A/C and heater, in-building washer and dryer

No oven in unit, rent is a bit high, can’t mount stuff on brick

It’s in a great neighborhood. Very convenient. The building is a good balance of traditional and modern. High ceilings,
Cons:
Lighting could be better, low water pressure, minimum hot water, windows need upgraded, grounds are poorly maintained. Central Heating and Air filters are expensive and circulation is poor. No traditional oven, refrigerator is small.
