Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 11 Humboldt St in Brooklyn highlight mixed experiences. Positive aspects include proximity to public transportation, good water pressure, and responsive building management for some residents. However, thereare recurring concerns about pests, particularly rats and garbage issues. Noisy surroundings and occasional unresponsive management are also detractors. Renters suggest improved pest control, better garbage management, and increased owner responsiveness. While some find the building acceptable, others strongly discourage living there due to pest infestations like rats, roaches, and bed bugs.

Decent Spot in a Connected Area
Former Tenant
Pros:
Walk to L, or close JMZ, great food, building has mice because of grocery store downstairs.

Acceptable but not great by any means
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building management is responsive to emails. Maintenance issues get handled in a timely manner. Heat and central AC work well. The immediate neighborhood area is very working class. The J/M station is a 1 min walk away. Rent was in my budget ($1050 for my room).
Cons:
Street is noisy- there are ambulances going to the hospital nearby, and people beeping their car horns like crazy. The trash area in front of the building usually has some rats running around, but that’s hard to control. Definitely not an accessible building as far as I can tell. Most apartments are 3bd I believe, the smallest room being in the middle of the apartment with no windows (is this allowed to be called a bedroom?). Hearing rats scratching in the walls as someone who lived in the ground floor, street facing bedroom was disturbing before this issue was addressed (eventually). Laundry room is available in the building next door, but it’s just one washer and dryer for two buildings, and it was out of service for months.
Advice to owner:
Take care of the rats around the trash area, do better with the laundry room
