Owner was grossly negligent about flooding resulting from clogged/poor drainage system on the roof, resulted in mold, water damage to belongings including destruction of some, and ultimately having to leave the lease early.

Maintenance/safety is not a priority
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rooftop access with beautiful view of the city for the upper apartments Unit, once in good repair, will be beautiful apartment
Cons:
Upon move-in it was clear that a number of things had not been dealt with, including: -active rodent infestation (most floor-level cabinets and drawers were littered with rodent feces that we had to clean up/disinfect) -severe roof leakage problems, including one leak so bad water just streamed down a wall any time it rained -broken appliances that owner insisted were in good working condition and refused to fix -insect infestation in the bathroom -basic wear and tear repair and painting from previous tenancy did not occur prior to move in (or ultimately at all) If all this wasn’t bad enough, when notified of the issues the owner repeatedly provided ineffective or sub-standard repairs, insisting that they had resolved the issue and we were being difficult tenants (despite regular picture and video updates being provided to them of the issues). To date, the wall is still only patched, the bathroom infestation has had to be handled by us (the tenants) and the broken appliance is still not working correctly. If you opt to move into this unit, be prepared for extremely haphazard attention to maintenance needs and gaslighting from the management company.
Advice to owner:
Do much, much better.
