Nice renovations, impossible landlords

Pros:
The apartment was nicely renovated.
Cons:
The management are impossible to work with and contact. Moved in and my room hadn’t been painted, asked them to paint the scuffs on the wall and they replied, “Do you really need it painted?” Management secretly kept 5 security deposits and tried to pretend as if it hadn’t happened. There was a gas leak in the apartment and nobody answered the phone to assist. AC broke on the hottest week of the summer and the management refused to send someone to assist Asking them to do the bare minimum was next to impossible. Not worth the hassle!
Advice to owner:
Be more reasonable. It costs too much money to live in your building and deal with all of the troubles.

Landlord is a perv and a con artist

Pros:
The building is modern, has central a/c, rooms are big, windows are nice.
Cons:
The landlord would come into our rooms while we were gone, he walked into my bedroom without knocking while I was naked, locks aren’t allowed, he regularly tried to say we hadn’t paid rent when we had, he was sleeping with one of the roommates so she didn’t pay bills or rent, etc. I sued him and found out he had a criminal record. Do not do business with this man.
Advice to owner:
Hire a lawyer

Pretty Weird Arrangement

The building is relatively nice. Easy walk to J or L
Cons:
Nosy manager. Renting individual rooms in shared space with no vetting of roommates

Break the floors into separate apartments
