Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for buildings managed by David Ogrin highlight a mixed management experience. Tenants appreciate the responsive supers and some attentive management teams, especially at 79 and 93 Clinton Street, with good heating, water pressure, and generally friendly neighbors. However, consistent concerns include pest infestations (cockroaches and mice), building cleanliness, package theft, and security issues. Noise levels tend to be high due to busy street locations and bars nearby. Rent increases and slow responses to maintenance, particularly gas outages and building repairs, have also been noted. Overall, while some tenants recommend staying for location and management responsiveness, improvements in pest control, security, and building upkeep are often advised.

Ehh it was okay
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very central location, super was usually very responsive, no pest issues, good water pressure
Cons:
Didn’t feel very secure (randoms hanging out on the stairwell, stolen packages), one of the rooms had a criminally small window

Typical Lower East Side
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, lots of space, super / management is very responsive.
Cons:
Bugs in the hallway and building (cockroaches! and they fly!), homeless people hang out in the stairwell, extremely noisy considering proximity to traffic / being above a bar, packages get stolen constantly and instantly, really expensive for what it is.
Advice to owner:
Get better security so packages stop getting stolen, get stop leaving windows open in the hallway to mitigate bugs, get online payment system as having to mail physical checks is really outdated

Lovely place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
I loved living here. The proximity to the river and so many cool neighborhoods makes it a walker’s paradise. My apartment was cozy and had big windows.
Cons:
Since all the apartments are right by the stairwell, it does get noisy at times. I invested in a white noise machine and some good ear plugs for nighttime.

93 Clinton St
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very nice neighbors and quiet, only noise comes from the streets. Attentive and kind landlord. Very easy access to stores, restaurants, laundry and coffee shops. Management responsive about mold concern.
Cons:
Cockroaches, AC unit left behind by previous tenant covered in mold, mold in dishwasher, pest control sign up but have not heard from management.
Advice to owner:
Pest control needs to be more attentive. Inside of building and foyer needs to be cleaned and updated!!!

Super is great, management attentive
Former Tenant
Pros:
Super is responsive, really quiet building, exposed brick is great, heat is free, water pressure good, no bugs, everyone keeps to themselves
Cons:
Outside street can be rowdy, rather small unit

Location is nice but not worth the money they’re asking
Former Tenant
Pros:
LES is a good time.
Cons:
What they are trying to charge is absolutely not worth it for this amount of money. Find another place for $3k. They advertise some apts as 1 bedroom but they are not big enough for a bed to be in it. There are 0 amenities in the building. Amenities are dated; bathroom should have been renovated before I moved in

Decent mgmt co
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management company was decent, building wasn’t gross.
Cons:
My rent increased by 1K once my lease was up. Knew it was coming bc I got a COVID deal but still pretty egregious imo
Advice to owner:
Lower the rent lol it’s not that amazing

Great location for too much rent
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location. Super is really responsive and nice guy. Always available and helpful.
Cons:
Very noisy because there’s an irish bar downstairs. There was a gas leak last year and the management didn’t compensate tenants for 5-6 months of no gas (even though they said they would). Water pressure was terrible.

Avoid this Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Rent stabilized, lovely tenants except for a dude that rips butts in the hallway
Cons:
Roaches, mice, landlord did the bare minimum before we moved in. Cooking gas got shut off and we were without it for most of the year. Dirty. People steal packages but that’s expected in a busy neighborhood w no doorperson
