Pros and cons
Former Tenant
Pros:
Landlord super responsive and willing to send someone right away. History of stabilized apartments. Excellent location.
Cons:
There are roaches in the building. Also, my unit faced only brick walls on all sides.

my first Brooklyn apartment!
Former Tenant
Pros:
in a great location so I was willing to deal with the actual apartment being not as nice as the area, that being said it’s really not bad-just an old building that could use a facelift
Cons:
Hallways can get dirty, saw a few dead roaches in the halls over the summer that would sit there because non of the tenants wanted to clean it up and management certainly wasn’t doing anything about it. They painted the doors and didn’t bother cleaning up the drywall dust for weeks. The actual unit is fine, just some old appliances (fridge is white and rusted but at least it works) and floors that’s are on an incline but you get used to it
Advice to owner:
Clean the hallways more often!

Great Neighborhood, Okay Apt
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, just a few blocks away from the F train and great restaurants/cafes and right above a fantastic Italian deli. Apt was a decent size for one person, but the layout was strange - bathroom was past the kitchen and the 2 bedrooms were abysmally tiny, as if they had split a nicely sized 1-BR into 2-BRs so they could charge more. My unit had central AC/heating, which was a pleasant surprise considering the age of the building.
Cons:
No larger grocery stores nearby. Floors and walls were thin, so you could hear your neighbors all the time, and during the winter, the cold would seep into the apt. The bedrooms faced the backyards of the neighbors the next street over so sometimes there would be loud parties/general noise late into the night.
Advice to owner:
Have the supervisor come around to clean more often; the common areas were always really dirty and dust/debris would build up, especially in the entrance hall and on the stairs. Do better sealing of the apts so winter air / summer heat doesn't leak in. Spend a little more $ to buy better quality finishes like faucets and appliances; getting the cheapest versions of these necessities cheapens the whole apt and makes it look older/crappier than it actually is.

Unfathomably negligent landlord with blatant disregard for tenets
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location by the park
Cons:
All landlords are cheap but the owner of this building does absolutely everything in her power to ensure her tenets the worst living experience possible.
Advice to owner:
Stop cutting corners at every possible juncture.

Great location, not well maintained
Former Tenant
Pros:
Wonderful location and neighbors seem great
Cons:
Repeated issue with mice and bugs. The management responds quickly but didn’t take appropriate steps for months. Halls often dirty, are weirdly partly painted. Heat is too low in the winter despite complaints

Small Quiet Apartment

The building was well maintained and on a cute block.
Cons:
Management was very unresponsive and the rooms are very small.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to tenants.

Nice place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean enough, well managed
Cons:
Could use some retouching, my floors were slanted
Advice to owner:
Fix the floors, pay contractors to actually improve the kitchens. A backsplash tile fell off
