While some appreciate affordable pricing, good location, and amenities like central heat and air, consistent complaints include unresponsiveness from management, maintenance delays, and broken facilities (notably laundry machines and gym equipment). Garbage management and cleanliness in common areas are often criticized, with reports of dirtiness, mold issues, and pest concerns. Could have been be better, but definitely could be worse.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very quiet location, set off from loud streets. New renovation in an old building, nice work. Pest control was monthly, never had bugs inside house.
Cons:
Management wasn't the quickest to respond but after multiple requests they usually did, but logistics/comms with contractors who needed to fix something were always a mess, coming at all hours / with no heads up. Common areas were dirty.
Advice to owner:
Quicker response to maintenance requests, clean up laundry/gym area.

Cons:

Poorly maintained building with unresponsive management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Decent amenities when they work: central heat and air, dishwasher
Cons:
Maintenance in this building is horrible. The only way to get anything fixed here is to file a complaint with the city. Constant water leaks in multiple apartments in the building. The cause is never addressed and the damage is just repeatedly painted over. Landlord is a borderline slumlord. Property manager will refer you to “maintenance” (who is the owner) who will never respond. You’ll need 311 on speed dial.

Building touts a laundry room and a gym. In the three years I’ve lived in the building there was never more than one working washing machine at a times. Sometimes all the machines would be broken for months. The gym has never been maintained. Most of the equipment is broken.

The building is generally filthy. Common spaces are not regularly maintained. Garbage isn’t dealt with frequently and garbage stacks up out front attracting rodents.

The walls are paper thin. You will hear every conversation and TV show your neighbors are watching.
Advice to owner:
Hire an actual maintenance supervisor if you’re not going to do it yourself.

Beware of mold
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet, gets good light, close to subway
Cons:
We had ongoing mold issues the entire time we lived here and the landlord was extremely difficult to get in touch with. We finally were able to get them to make some slapdash fixes but continued to have problems. The management refuses to answer maintenance requests but the property manager barely responds.

Middle of the road
Former Tenant
Pros:
Renovated and clean interior, central air and heat, fire escape access along the back bedrooms, bike storage/tiny gym/laundry in basement (each load $2.50 per wash and per dry.) Located next to B43 and B65 bus lines. Our unit has 2 bathrooms which is a nice perk.
Cons:
Stairwell and surrounding block are pretty dirty and some parts of the stairs are falling apart, yikes. There are trees in the back that are leaning on a powerline.
Advice to owner:
Maintain the stairwell, back courtyard, and trees along the powerline better for safety please.

Not the worst, could be way better
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apts are renovated, central air.
Cons:
Not very responsive, loud construction on one of the apartments every day, have had structural issues.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive, CLEAN COMMON AREAS they are filthy
