Pros:
Close to shopping areas, good schools.
Cons:
Neighbors can be difficult/inappropriate
Advice to owner:
Rent is insanely high for such small apartments

Pros:
Somewhat responsive. Does seem to try to take care of complaints
Cons:
Landlord blatantly flouts laws, unless you hold her to it she will try to get out of following them
Advice to owner:
Not a bad place to rent. Some nights were cold but most adequately heated. Building somewhat neglected. Just be aware. I thought it was worth it for the money

Pros:
nice thing about the building was it has an elevator. did it always work? no. did people get stuck on it at night? yes.

close to target and the east harlem shops, and there’s a really nice liquor store 4 blocks down on the same ave.

the bus station is right across the street from the building.

close access to the fdr
Cons:
super didn’t care about anything.

cockroaches were in every draw all throughout the year because the building was so dirty. in the spring, mice were everywhere.

one of the apartments is an airbnb. guests had a party once and i was below them. they were jumping up and down & it looked my ceiling was going to cave in.
Advice to owner:
just because it is a rent controlled building doesn’t mean the entire property should get neglected.
