Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for buildings managed by DITMAS MANAGEMENT CORP. reveal a mixed experience. While some residents commend spacious, well-located apartments and responsive, friendly supers in select buildings, significant concerns repeatedly arise about poor pest control, inadequate cleanliness, and slow or minimal responsiveness from management in others. Complaints include persistent roach and rodent infestations, thin walls causing noise complaints, heating issues, and occasional rude staff behavior. Many tenants note steep rent increases and insufficient maintenance investment. Overall, management appears inconsistent—some buildings are well-maintained with engaged staff, while others suffer from neglect and tenant dissatisfaction, signaling variable management quality across properties.

Would not recommend it

Pros

It's in a good location

Cons

Long list, but my top 3: the super is one of the worst people to deal with. The building management will be somewhat responsive to maintenance requests, but seems like they use the cheapest possible solutions so it'll just be a problem again soon after, and the landlord raises rent as much as humanly possible each year. Honorable mentions: They barely run the heat in the winter

Advice to the owners

I doubt they'd take advice. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Pests, Filth and Noise. Be warned!

Pros

It has a laundromat and parking. That’s about it.

Cons

Pests are a big problem in this building. There’s a roaches everywhere. I even seen a mouse in my apartment. I don’t think management does enough to address these issues. The building is also filthy most of the time. I don’t think you can blame one party since the residents leave the trash area uncared for by not putting cardboard into recycling bins or leaving their garbage in the bins of the laundromat. The maintenance crew also hardly cleans the place nor places a priority on what needs to be fixed. The biggest issue, at least for me, was the noise level. If you’re sensitive to noise and want peace and quiet after a hard day at work, good luck because the materials that make up the building are cheap and you can hear almost anything. You can even make out conversations. This is another issue that management fails to address nor do they care. I’ve repeatedly reported my upstairs neighbor who would throw a party for three consecutive nights in a row and after being warned continued to make noise: playing video games while shouting, bringing people over chatting the night away, moving furniture all past quiet hours stated in the lease(10 pm - 8 am). Despite mentioning this to the management, it didn’t solve anything, not even a little bit. For future tenants, if these three things I mentioned are deal breakers, good, there are far better options out there in the city than this sorry excuse for a residence.
