If the electricity bill wasn’t so high, I would have never left!
Pros
The building has almost 24/7 doorman (some holidays there’s no coverage, and some Sunday nights there’s no one over night). I lived there 2 years and never had a package stolen. It’s right across the street from the shuttle and C train, and a 3 min walk from express A. Washer dryer in building (20+ washers and dryers) so I never had to wait for laundry— tbh I also work weird hours so I just did my laundry at times when I knew most people weren’t (ie not Sunday afternoons)
Cons
The electricity bill is incredibly high. Coned was contacted numerous times to do audits. The source ended up being the water heaters. They’re electric and run 24/7 and are old (even though the building isn’t)… which is confusing. So on average my electricity bill was 3-500 a month. I lived alone and even when I traveled for the entire month of December one year, my bill was still 307$!! Management won’t buy new water heaters bc although heat/hot water is supposed to be covered by the building, since the heaters are electric they’re able to bypass that expectation. Since the bill doesn’t affect them, they have low incentive to change them.
Advice to the owners
Automatically add an additional 300$ to your rent price bc that’s likely how much you’ll pay in electricity. So if you’re already at the top of your budget, that may be difficult .

Pros
I like the apartment and the onsite staff are friendly. It’s hard to find a nice apartment with amenities in BK for a decent price so I’m happy.
