Review Summary for Galil Management LLC
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by GALIL MANAGEMENT LLC reveal a mixed experience with management. Many praise cleanliness, quiet neighbors, and good locations, particularly in Queens. However, a recurring issue is poor owner responsiveness, with frequent complaints about slow or absent replies to maintenance and pest control requests. Pest infestations and sanitation concerns, especially in Manhattan buildings, are notable problems. Elevators often require long repairs, and infrastructural issues like broken appliances and poor lighting remain unaddressed. While some tenants find the buildings safe and recommend living there, overall, management responsiveness and maintenance require significant improvement for a better tenant experience.

Management non existent
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean building, utilities included
Cons:
Management is non-existent, they don’t return calls. I can’t understand why they know people are moving in and the appliances don’t work
Advice to owner:
DO BETTER people are paying enough in rent

Okay… but Needs improvement
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet building, good neighbors & neighborhood
Cons:
no matter how much you clean their will always be roaches and other pest. No option for exterminator. Very dirty staircase, looks like it has never been cleaned, barely any light in the area. Very cheap management.

landlord never answers

Cons:
the landlord literally neverrrr answered.

Very unsanitary building, neglectful management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, very close to the train, close to 2 parks and cute neighborhoods. The heat is pretty good.
Cons:
The building is unsanitary. Over the course of living here for a year, I have encountered bedbugs, rats, mice, and an unending parade of cockroaches despite constant professional and DYI pest control measures. Other units in the building have reported the same infestations. Every week, the trash room -which is open to the street- overflows onto the sidewalk and smells horrible as you enter the building. The hallways and stairwells are dingy, narrow, and smell unpleasant. The management is a large corporate management company which takes no interest in tenants besides getting their names on a lease and collecting checks. It's like pulling teeth to get any sort of response from them.

Building is unresponsive
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, roof, water is heated years round.
Cons:
Wine cooler broken, told it would never be fixed. Floors not cleaned before laminated so looks forever dirty.

Overall a good place to live- could be better but could also be a lot worst
Former Tenant
Pros:
Safe, clean, good neighbors, centrally located near busses, and e/f train / LIRR. Quiet and haven’t had any major problems with people.
Laundry bee at corner
Lots of great eateries and bars nearby as well as markets
Very easy and fast to get to JFK and LGA airports
2 stops on the LIRR into manhattan
A short ride on e/ f to manhattan
Super close to Forrest park lots of trails and outdoor recreational activities.
Cons:
My packages have been stolen 2 x. We have had multiple mice
The bathroom molds easily
Bad phone reception and WiFi signal many many dropped calls even with WiFi calling And a WiFi booster.
When the elevator breaks it takes forever to repair so it feels like you are living in a walk up but paying elevator prices :)
The laundry room is often out of laundry cards
Advice to owner:
Please fix the elevators sooner, and find a way to fix the phone and WiFi issues :)

Worst Building Management Ever Experienced
Former Tenant
Pros:
The water was usually hot and clear.
Cons:
Building staff is not capable of making basic repairs and often cause further damage; management is completely unresponsive to all issues. tenants are left to deal with issues on their own.

Former Tenant
Pros:
Renovated apartments (although very poorly renovated they looked nice at move in)
Cons:

Disgusting, Badly Maintained
Former Tenant
Pros:
The area is ok but it’s close to Frederick Douglas, near a lot of good restaurants.
Cons:
The block the building is on is dirty and loud. Men sit outside the building all day and into the night. If you are a woman, be careful if you are alone.
There are multiple maintenance issues throughout the building that have not been resolved. Mailboxes are not up to code and often do not receive mail, the lobby and stairways are disgusting, the buzzer has been broken for over three months. The main entrance once had blood throughout the hallway and it took three days for it to be cleaned. The cleanliness issue is completely unacceptable during covid.
Advice to owner:
Clean the building, hire another property manager to assist in maintenance requests. There are too many problems in the building for one person to handle.

Scumbags :)
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartment was spacious and gorgeous for the area and the monthly rate. Friendly neighbors. Lovely community.
Cons:
Rats in the lobby. Roaches. Human blood in the lobby. Pre-move in repairs ignored. Problematic windows not opening. Super will not make repairs. Management company has never meet the tenants and attempts to fix problems exclusively over the phone and provides bullshit excuses. I moved out of my apartment due to neglect of important repairs during a pandemic. Where we are supposed to stay home. Its awfully scummy of a landlord to allow this to go on for so long. Lots of unanswered questions.
Advice to owner:
Do better. Keep a log of tenants and their history. Get a better super or a better way of addressing maintenance issues. Provide a copy of the lease to the tenants. Give real instructions on who to contact when something needs addressed. Too many things were accepted as “fine” during normal time, but in the situation of the pandemic, your tenants who pay rent on time deserve to be heard and have requests attended to. There was also no options about how to ensure there was an acceptable living condition during the pandemic. The office phone number stated it was CLOSED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. EXCUSE ME. THIS MANAGER HAS MULTIPLE PROPERTIES WITH MULTIPLE TENANTS.

Power outages
Former Tenant
Pros:
On-site laundry is not bad, albeit busy.
Cons:
Multiple power outages in one year, often lasting more than a day.
Advice to owner:
Correspondence with tenants is very important!
