Review Summary for Regal Management Services LLC
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenant reviews for buildings managed by REGAL MANAGEMENT SERVICES LLC reveal a consistent pattern of unresponsiveness and neglect. Numerous complaints highlight poor maintenance, unresolved pest infestations (mice, rats, roaches), persistent leaks, mold, and unclean common areas. Management is often described as dismissive, slow to address repairs, and occasionally confrontational regarding security deposits and tenant concerns. While some buildings have good neighbors and decent amenities, the overall tenant experience is marred by health hazards and inadequate upkeep. Prospective renters should expect challenging communication with management and should be cautious about the conditions, especially regarding cleanliness, repairs, and pest control.

Aloof, greedy management neglects gorgeous property and health of tenants
Former Tenant
Pros:
High Ceilings, decent rent, updated appliances, beautiful apartments if cared properly for. Convenient to park, and shops.
Cons:
Management does not respond to maintenance requests. Tickets submitted through the portal go unanswered for months. We moved into unpainted, dirty walls and dealt with a severe mice infestation that was ignored until we contacted 311. There has been human feces left in the basement after flooding that tenants had to clean themselves. Most recently, wastewater leaked through our ceiling and poured out of our light fixtures, creating a major health and electrical hazard. Management told us to “let it dry.” Mold issues in the bathroom have also gone unresolved. Emergency phone numbers rarely pick up, and basic repairs are consistently ignored.
Advice to owner:
Take tenant safety seriously. Respond to portal tickets, hire licensed professionals for plumbing, electrical, and sanitation issues, and establish a real emergency line. Address mold, flooding, and waste problems immediately. This building needs proper management, not dismissive responses. Take pride in your properties, relationship with tenants and be better.

Good Apartments in Crown Heights

Not the best not the worst

Absolutely awful and traumatizing. Do not move here.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location. That's about it.
Cons:
We had an awful experience with this building. Neighbors were loud, walls were thin, laundry area in the basement was dirty and often had dead mice, rats, and/or cockroaches rotting, we had mice in the apartment and we could hear them living and chirping in the walls...but none of that was the worst part. Worst part is that we had major roof leaks that eventually forced us to move out completely. It started in one room and quickly spread to all other bedrooms, the living room, and even the bathroom. At one point it was leaking through the vent in the bathroom above the toilet, so if you went to use the toilet you would get dripped on. Management was slow to respond and kept saying they've fixed the problem, but the next time it rained, the issue only got worse. Management was rude and hard to deal with and kept telling us they are "trying their best" when the apartment continued to be in unlivable condition. I had to sleep with a bucket by my bed listening to water dripping into it all night. By the end the apartment was in undeniably unlivable condition and the landlord refused to let us break the lease. All the intense fighting over emails and calls with management over this issue and considering litigation disrupted my job and personal life, gave me headaches and, honestly, was just traumatizing. No one should be fighting for a home that is simply LIVABLE. This apartment was my "first apartment in NYC" horror story. Do not move here.
Advice to owner:
actually fix problems, dont just put band aids. hire nicer human beings. hire cleaners for the building. care even just a little bit about your tenants.

Worst Management in Brooklyn
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is clean and the neighborhood is wonderful. The windows are great and it has good amenities.
Cons:
* UPDATE * I am not in the process of seeking legal action because they wanted to keep my security deposit to paint the apartment for their family. Avoid this shoddy management company like the plague. You'll never get an honest word out of them.

They're lazy, cheap, and will nickel and dime you every step of the way. They are untrustworthy and will do anything, even break laws, to get as much money from you as possible. If the building wasn't so nice, I would run away from this management team and never look back.
Advice to owner:
* UPDATE * I hope this company gets shut down. Your practices are disgusting and you should be ashamed. You are the least trustworthy management company I have ever encountered. You coast on the fact that you got lucky with nice buildings but you do almost nothing to maintain them. You could try being a little responsive and pretending like you care about your tenants, it's the least you could do.

Nice place, decent management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Bike storage area in the entryway
Nice residents, never had any problems with noise or package theft
Sometimes maintenance is really fast (for smaller issues like light bulbs)
Cons:
Management is not always responsive - I've had a few maintenance tickets opened for months.
Also I've never met my landlord in person.

Nice building, nice location, crap management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Central A/C & heat, modern finishes, a lot of space, a good amount of storage
Cons:
Management was inattentive & unresponsive, & penny pinched every fix. Basement flooded and we were told it was our fault because we didn’t clear a drain that we had no idea existed
Advice to owner:
Fix your building in a way tht will last longer. It might cost more money up front but it will save you a lot of momey and phone calls in the future. The amount of profit you make from our rent should have more than covered it

It is what it is, for me it was my first real home :)
Former Tenant
Pros:
neighbors are friendly, building is located between the L and M trains, and theres a really good bagel store around the corner. Lots of shopping on knickerbocker ave, grocery store right down the street. Roof has beautiful views.
Cons:
hallway is genuinely filthy, and usually full of people hanging out, the people are nice and will always move if you ask, but they are constantly smoking in the hall. Survived most of the year without pests, but by the end of it there were a couple mice and a couple roaches, as well as a lot of gnats in the summer (but that may have been our fault because of our plants). The building does provide monthly extermination upon request, and provides mouse traps.
Advice to owner:
just clean the stairs plz, they are so nasty. And maybe dont smoke in the hallway, or at least pick up the butts/roaches
Over 3 years ago
It was fine
Former Tenant
Pros:
I liked the high ceilings
Cons:
The layout was weird and not great for having a living room space. The shower water pressure was also not great, but acceptable. We moved out because the rent was raised too much for us to afford.
Advice to owner:
There should be a rent raise cap if there are no improvements made to the apartment by management.

pretty nice lol
Former Tenant
Pros:
penthouse apartments are nice, lots of light
Cons:
the hallway and stairwell are FILTHY and there are always people hanging out there
Advice to owner:

Thin walls
Former Tenant
Pros:
Air conditioning and laundry on premises
Cons:
Loud at night. Neighbors often have parties. Walls in building very thin so can hear people walking around above you or fighting below you

Okay place to live!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Relatively new and refurbished, nice light, kind of clean, central air and heat as well as washer/dryer in unit.
Cons:
This building either has hard water or something else is wrong with the pipes. The walls are incredibly thin, and I can hear upstairs neighbors moving around frequently. Maintenance is not super responsive.
Advice to owner:
Be a bit more present with cleaning/fixing appliances.
