Pros:
Location can’t be beat, pretty quiet block right next to all the action. Super close to groceries and restaurants and the train. Great windows and lots of natural light. Amenities are nice for what you pay (central air, in-unit W/D). Pretty spacious living room. Despite not having a doorman or a secure door, packages were surprisingly never stolen.
Cons:
Closets are tiny. Had a mouse problem for a few weeks that the management did nothing about. Had multiple toilet and fridge issues that management did not respond to for weeks. Door kept sticking/not opening and management did nothing about it for weeks. Management is impossible to reach and uncommunicative. Super is lazy and does nothing -- one time I was locked out and texted him to be let in, he told me he did not have a spare key. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on in neighboring units and in the halls. Super drafty and expect high electricity bills ($290 ish per month even when we were conservative in our usage). Hot water runs out if more than one person showers in a row. Neighbors are unfriendly and leave stuff out in hallway.
Landlord hiked rent ridiculous amounts, watch out for that.
Advice to owner:
Fix things on time.
