Pros:
Location - close by the 2,5 train in a vibrant Caribbean community
Cons:
Poor management, leaky ceilings, dark hallways, mice, roaches for 10 years since living there. Very old building that needs to be torn down
Advice to owner:
Tear the building down and build a new one

the apartment is a good size
Cons:
-roach infestations
-mold conditions, originally the super tried to just paint over the mold
- radiator steam causing paint to chip
-broken appliances
-holes in floor
-unresponsive management

I like my apartments size

Super never cleans
And these people hang in the hallway all day smoking and drinking
Advice to owner:
Clean up. Turn on the heat and fine the people polluting the hallway

This Building is Bad

Apartments are big enough to fit the needs of people.
Cons:
Garbage management is abhorrent, there are bugs and mice (fumigated 2 times and still have bugs). Management refuses to handle issues that happen outside of the renters control + not at fault for (called 311 on them several times) this is a non smoking building and there have been cigarettes found and cops all throughout the building. The super has changed several times over the course of a year.
Advice to owner:
Do better and hire people capable of doing the jobs they’re assigned to.

Living Over 40 YEARS IN ONE PLACE, MY FIRST APARTMENT

Need more heat better water pressure in bathroom
Advice to owner:
When senior ask to move to a lower level don't forget them when you have a vacancy

Beautiful, busy, convenient

Pros:
Nice hardwood floors, crown molding, pre-war charm. Side courtyards and front yards great for dogs.
Cons:
Had bugs in kitchen. New super was less responsive and left repairs unaddressed. It’s a social building, and so there are smells and noises.
Advice to owner:
Update more and deep clean building for bug control

Thin walls, management can be hard to get in x contact with, my is buzzer broken.

Pros:
Never felt unsafe. Heat and hot water included and generally working. Cheap rent and kept up well (usually, except some inconsiderate/lazy neighbors)
Cons:
Neighbors treat trash areas like a dump, especially on weekends. Buzzer issues constantly. Building is being renovated piece by piece and the super will only be able to give temporary, cheap fixes. Super also has a lot on his plate and might forget you if you don’t follow up.
Advice to owner:
Make major changes. Get to the root of the some of the repeated big issues (ie. wiring, plumbing).

Great apartment with some issues

Pros:
The space of the apartment is larger than a lot of other places that we saw. you are free to do whatever you want in this building, no one will bother you. It is very dog friendly, the front yard is a very great for the dogs
Cons:
mice, packages are stolen, random people hanging out in the lobby from time to time, no elevator.
Advice to owner:
fix the mice issue.

Pros:
The unit I was in was spacious and had beautiful crown molding and a separate kitchen
Cons:
Building maintenance was awful, landlord used COVID as an excuse to not do exterminations and the neighbors left garbage in the hallways so roaches galore. The ceiling fell in and there were several toilet leaks from the unit above

Conveniently located, close to laundry, grocery etc.
Cons:
Crooked squeaky floors (at least in my unit ) , plenty of rodents/poor trash maintenance, packages notoriously stolen - plenty of non residents coming and going

Pros:
The super is helpful but it seems like he always has alot to do.
Exterminator come usually 2x a month
Cons:
The entrance is not wheelchair accessible
Mice are a huge problem even with an exterminator coming 2x a month
The building needs to be cleaned more than 1x week
The elevator needs new flooring
The building could use a new paint job on all floors not just the lobby. Each floor looks dingy from old paint.
The front door needs a new lock and an updated intercom system
Advice to owner:
Repair the floor in the elevator
PAINT!
Get the porter to clean 2x a week Monday and Thursday
New lock on the front door.

Only pro is you get free rain water when your roof is leaking smh
Cons:
Worst place live reason management doesn’t care
If you live here you have to keep 311 on speed dial
Advice to owner:
Treat the tenants with respect and stop taking rent money if you not going to fix the problem report to you mr voicemail. No call back
